Muffler question

Here's the problem I have Texas speed 1 7/8 long tubes no cats has a wider resonator looking connector to 3in pipe to flowmaster American thunder exhaust. I noticed two thing first, usually only shifting to third, it sounds really raspy when the shift is made is that normal. Second when I get on it and go over around 5 grand it gets really raspy again I don't know if its supposed to be like that or if its just the exhaust doesn't go we'll together I really want something with a deep rumble what are you opinions. And sorry guys I don't have a video of it or I would have added it.

If you're going by what you hear in the cabin, then take it with a grain of salt. Get someone you trust to drive your car while you stand by and watch/listen. Then decide if you like the sound. Mine sounds ridiculous to me in the driver's seat (TSP headers, no cats, JBA 3" catback), but when I heard it out of the car.... holy shit. It sounds GOOD.

I thought about that but I don't have any friends lol. I don't trust anyone other than my wife to drive the car lets just say judging by way they take care of their own stuff I won't lend them a rusty wrench but there is 2 other cars a gto and my buddies corvette that souls like mine and I still don't like it for me it's not as deep as I would like it.

I agree that running catless does sound a little too raspy. I ran that way for a couple months. I ran across a used set of high flow cats and that took almost all the raspiness away. It still gets loud when I get on it, even with these VT mufflers, but the roar is much cleaner.

It's only raspy for a 1000 rpm swath between 2k and 3k. They all sound similar at WOT. Mean!

I guess I'm going to have to deal with it I hope after I build the engine it will deepen the sound a bit
