Camaro Boston Acoustics Speakers Specs

Hello,

Anyone have the dimensions for the Boston Acoustics speaks 9 set?
Ok... I've found compatible sizes:

Front Left/Right (Door Speakers)
Width: 6-3/4 inch (171.45mm)
Shape: Circle

Tweeter (Door)
1-1/2 inch (38.1mm)
Shape: Circle

Back Left/Right (Deck Speakers)
Width: 6 x 9 inch (152.4mm x 228.6mm)
Shape: Oval

Subwoofer (Trunk)
Width: 12 inch (300mm)
Shape: Circle
[Note: You'll need a mounting box for 1 or 2 subs]

Center (Dash)
Width: 3-1/2 inch (88.9mm)
Shape: Circle

Thanks

Do you have a factory door speaker removed? If so can you measure the actual woofer size? I know many speakers spec's state 6 3/4 or 6 1/2 but the actual woofer size is smaller, many state the size by the frame.

I've not seen the specs listed for the speakers or amp.

The woofer is smaller, but the bracket that GM use is approximately those sizes. If you get an aftermarket front door speakers, it should be fitted to the bracket.

If you get it from Crutchfield, they will provide you with an adapter bracket so you don't need to spend additional effort custom fitting it.

The system doesn't have the presence nor thrilling highs I would expect from a top of the line system. I'm going to find how I get a CD/cassette player attached. I've got hundreds of hours of music on those formats.

I will check how to get more highs to get some simulance of presence. A properly powered 6" sub might bring some lows that are not muddied into the music. I feel an 8" sub is only for folks with superpowered hearing-damaging systems. My home theater has a 600 watt self-powered Velodyne 8" sub and will shake the pictures off the walls.

I guess the current system will properly reproduce mid-1960s or earlier monophonic analog recordings from a 2-4 track master.

Big problem with the BA system is the center channel muds the front stage out. Disconnect that damned thing. With a proper source, it has brilliant highs- but XM radio and horribly compressed MP3 files sound dead on it. Many companies are building in technology to "restore" compressed music and it appears GM hasn't incorporated it or if they did- it sucks.

Lol

I replaced my whole sound system except for the factory head unit and added a sub, I'm much happier with it now. Now my problem is finding music that's high enough quality to take advantage of my system.
