Yes, I know. I'm saying I did the math wrong.

I joined this forum because I couldn't decide if I wanted a Camaro 2SS or a premium Mustang GT. I am a member of both Gen 6 forums to read what people have to say about each car.
The Mustang has QC problems and a vibration problem that Ford isn't fixing. The only thing holding me back from getting a 2SS is the price. I'm holding out for when the price goes down on the 2017. That may not be until the 2018 MY comes out and they are wanting to drop the price as they did with the 2016MY when the 2017 came out. I'm ready to buy my dream car but it doesn't seem to be ready for me. |

When I was 18 we purchased a 2002 Z28 for around 22k ... now to get into base V8 6th gen its over 35k if your lucky. I'm going with price is the issue. 2 months ago instead of getting a 6th gen I purchase a CPO 2015 2ss commemorative edition because it was 10k cheaper then getting into a similar equipped 2ss package.

As a young, married military member, I also have to think about practicality as well as price, and right now the cost is too high for a, dare I say, impractical, 2 door coupe. But I mostly need to think about the next unit; does a vehicle work in snowy winters as well as sunny Florida summers? Will I be on base, or have to commute from the outskirts of town because housing allowance doesn't cover anything closer? What if I have kids? Can it roadtrip with my wife and I as well as my dog? What if my wife can't find a new job; does that payment still fit? What if I get orders to an overseas base? As a 'millennial' (hate that term, and being associated with the stereotype that comes with it...), these are the things in my mind. I have the Jeep for fun for now, but I can't afford to justify my dream car just yet. On a more upbeat note, the wife and I have determined a truck is more practical for our outdoor lifestyle than the Trax... So at least one of the 2 things I hate mentioned here will be going away.

Cost will always play a role in sales. I will say the deals are out there you just have to look for them and negotiate them. There are the aggressive buyers and there are the passive buyers.
You also have to factor in there are many gen 5 camaro owners (along with previous gen owners) that don't like the gen 6 for whatever reason(s) like any other car enthusiasts like certain years of certain vehicles but hate the rest. |

I waited my entire life for Chevy to deliver a car that needs nothing. The cherry on top is that I can get mag ride and HUD too. No way I would want to go backwards in order to make it cheap and I'm encouraged to hear the next gen ATS, CTS and Camaro discussed in this article. I see three things cited in the article. I expect gen7 to be a styling departure with great visibility. Quote:

There is another take on this. You can get BMW M levels of performance, sophistication, technology and engineering for half the price. How many of the folks that are complaining about the cost of the SS, are also stating that the BMW M4 is a bargain at $85K?
Just for the record, I have owned several BMWs, Audis and Jaguars. There is a Jaguar parked next to the SS in the garage right now. IMHO, the SS offers features, comfort, engineering and performance worthy of any of these marques.
