My dad is still with us but unable to drive it but I wish he could. He helped me buy my first camaro (1974 w/350 and 4spd) and taught me how to drive a stick. I probably aged him 5 years learing how to drive that thing but he never lost his cool. Can't blame ya for cringing its hard not to. Glad you vented hear instead in front of Pops. I keep pushing my wife to drive mine but she's afraid to mess it up. Hard to mess up something thats built so tough.

I know first hand.

yep, my Dad just takes his usual cheap shot and changes the subject. throw him the key and go get a drink together. just gently remind him that this one is different from his and give a pointer or two. you'll survive.

I truly love my car, have a litho for my car so it makes it even more special and will make it hard to replace since the litho is VIN specific, BUT and a BIG BUT what is the point of having something if you can't share it. Until this year EVERY new car I purchase, which was one a year, I took to my MOM and we went for a ride in the new car, truck or whatever it was. A little over a year ago my Mom passed from cancer, and trust me even with all the excitement and joy of getting this car it was bitter sweet when I left the dealership and started towards my Mom's house and realizing she wasn't there. I did go to the cemetary but it wasn't the same.

So remember your Dad is your Dad and one day will not be here to share in your lifes accomplishments, just enjoy him, trust me I would give my Camaro back if I could have my Mom.

well said, good sir. btw, your boys looked good against my boys last Sat.

Not me. My dad gave me a lot of crap when I started driving, and I was a safer driver than him.

If I had an automatic I'd let him drive it, but I don't so I get him rentals.

My pops wont even consider driving my car and he used to drive GTO's, Mustangs and Camaro's back in the day. No budge with my mom either and she used to have a '92 IROC...

OP: Dude. This man played a critical role in bringing you into this world...he could play an equal role in taking you out too. Be respectful. He's your Dad for crying out loud...

The tranny can take it. That kind of stuff just happens. One day, you'll probably kill it too.

Thanks, wished Dodge would have got to play, I hear he is an excellent QB. Hopefully they will continue to get better with a first year QB

I'm sure it's nice that you all would let your dad drive your car, but I wouldn't let anyone drive mine unless I had to. And mines a v6 automatic. lol if it was a v8 manual I'd slap anyone who asked.

eh, any dude can squirt fluids out his peen, it's not a big sacrifice or skill, and most dad's do diddly squat while the mother goes through child birth, raising the children, and often has to get a job on the side.
