Question 2011s vs 2012s

So my dealer hand-delivered me the G8 I'll be driving for the next two days while they redo the hood of my Camaro. He drove it over an hour to me, then sat and waited for his girlfriend to come pick him up from my office. We were talking about everything I have done to my Camaro so far and what plans I had for her. He was impressed, I guess, after I showed him what I had done so far and what mods I had planned. We got to talking about the 2012s and he told me it "sucked I couldn't have waited a few months and ordered one" and he "hated it for me that the new 6s had all the upgrades and 323 HP." But then he smiled and said that since I was keeping up with upgrades (like my steering wheel and all the 2LT upgrades I'm installing) he figured I would just continue to upgrade mine. And I will.

I told him I loved my 2011 and that I didn't want a 12-- that I couldn't get blue on the 12's, first of all, and my Camaro had to be blue. I'm also not too sure about the PLASTIC intake/plenum on the LFX engine , and the fact that it's a new engine-- I'm sure people are going to have problems with it. My engine has been in the Cadillacs for a few years and is reliable, tried and tested (IMO). I also don't like the new gauges and I hate the new steering wheel-- why on earth would they put the Cruze steering wheel in the 12??? As far as the standard options-- reverse camera and HUD and all on the LTs-- My visibility is limited on that small windshield as it is; I don't want to add anything else to obstruct or distract my view (I can look down two inches to see how fast I'm going. Three speedometers in one car is overkill to me), and I don't feel like I need a reverse camera. So in short, I love my 2011 and would much rather have it than a 2012.

What about all of you guys? Do you wish you'd held out for a 12 or are you happy with your 10/11? Why? I'd love a spirited debate here

I'm getting a 2012 and they all come standard with the spoiler and RS tail lights. And the LT has the power passenger seat standard. I'm glad I waited, granted the colors are limited but I'm getting a black one and when it is clean it looks just as nice as the IBM or ABM..IMHO

I waited until pics of the ZL1 came out, and promptly ordered my '11 the very next week. The gauge faces of the '12 are the only thing i prefer about it.

I currently drive an Acura TSX 2010, was going to buy an '11 camaro back in March and once I sat inside and noticed no power seats and non adjustable passenger seat, combined with no backup camera it just felt like a serious downgrade, I am currently waiting on a '12.

I'm happy with my '11 2SS/RS LS3 and don't regret waiting for a '12. Every year there will be subtle changes or improvements over the previous year's model.

I just picked up my 2011 RS covt lt2 and
am very pleased. (yellow with stripe kit) I like the
fact that it's the 1st year odor convts.
Camera would be nice but I am not a fan
of the new gauges and steering wheel. I'm
very happy with my purchase.

For me it depended on two things: I wanted to see the official pictures of the ZL1, then I wanted to know how the EU spec looked like.

When I found out that the EU spec will have the dumbo mirrors, and the revised tail lights, I went and ordered a US spec 2011. Still in the process of getting the homologation done here, but I couldn't be any happier with the car

I love mine!!! I use the HUD exclusively because I put the steering wheel all the way down for my comfort and the top of the wheel covers all the important part of the gauges, like 45-90mph and a lot of the rpms, plus my lease was gonna be up before the 12's came out

i dont really care either way between the '12 and '11 (suspension maybe, but ill eventually get some good aftermarket suspension in there so it wont matter) but if you havent driven around with a HUD you should try it.

I thought it would be distracting at first, but just like anything else you get used to it. you can adjust the brightness and positioning of it on your windshield. I hate driving cars without it now. you can see all the necessary things in the corner of your eye without having to take your eyes off the road. im a tall guy too so i have to move my hand and my arm and all that to even see the guages. i hardly look at them now whenever i drive.

I'm a little 'different" than most people, but I like the '11 1LT gauges, non-RS lights, and steering wheel. My wife would love the power passenger seat on the '12 so she could raise it. I might or might not like the HUD - I've not liked them on other cars but haven't driven them enough to really get used to it or set it up properly. I'm a little concerned about the engine changes, as stated above first year engine has some risk - might be better / might be worse - but it is different!

Beyond happy with my 2011. IBM was my color to have, I toyed around with a SIM and a CGM but at the end of the day..IBM had me.

It was the first color I test drove on a 2010 model and the color that I just fell in love with on the Camaro. I was in a position where I had to either find a "left over" 2011 or order a 2012..at the time no details had been released on the 2012.

I decided to look for a 2011 IBM 2SS coupe, no sunroof with the automatic transmission and RS package. This was a harder combo to find sitting on a lot than I had anticipated. I lucked out near the end of my search and found one at a dealer about three and a half hours away. It had all of the above and gray interior which I prefer over the black. It did however have polished wheels as extra. After a test drive, playing with the HUD, and seeing the polished wheels in person, I knew that was my Camaro.

I don't like the gauges, wheel or the new interior trim insert on the dash on the 2012 (no offense to you 2012 owners, I still love you guys )..but most of all I don't like that it doesn't come in IBM.
0 regrets here, 100% satisfied and in love with my 2011 IBM Camaro.
