I DEMAND A Z28 that we should have had not a wanna be luxury/supersports car. While I know its great and people will get them and buy them they just price themselves out of high sales. I rather buy a used corvette or new cts-v8 that can fit four comfortably inside. There needs to be a middle ground between the SS and ZL1....GIVE US A Z28!

the base price is 54,095...then you add the 900 to get 54,995.

if you'd have actually read the first post in this thread you would have known that.

Funny thing.....I remember a time when Manual transmissions were "no charge" options....now they want $1300 for manual and double for Automatic. Nothing like "fleecing" the consumer for more money.

that's the gas guzzler tax...manual comes standard and the automatic is an extra charge option.

My move to the dark side has been very happy. I purchased the GT500 at $54.9 K, (with generous trade off Camaro) nicely equipped with nav/performace pac and could not be happier with marked improvement in drive-ability and twin cam fun, while having the SC already in-place over my last chevy.
If they screw us out of a cheaper priced Z28 I might be following you. I think chevrolet just took it the wrong way now that they have in their head they can run the numbers and not the customers desires. We might be seeing the beginning of the downfall again. They are gonna have to keep the price the same and increase the engine output for 2013 or for the same amount of money no one will touch it...why would they when you could have a lighter vehicle weight and higher base numbers on HP/Torque before any mods. I have always preferred Chevy over Fords, but I'm glad I did not jump on the band wagon before the price was out. I will patiently wait to see if a Z28 comes or just pick up a cheaper SS. Money really isn't the issue but the thinking behind this price is starting to worry me...maybe everyone should have been demanding 48k and not saying you think it would be 55k or more...guess you got your wish. Geez...feel totally let down on the price...not saying they will not get that and there won't be people paying it but its a money thing now. 2013 ZL1 v. 2013 Shelby GT500.

Why is everyone so mad. This is the BEST Camaro Chevy has ever produced at an astounding price. The new GT500 might be making more power and all but, can you get it for 56k.... I don't think so. As for the Z28, I wish they would make one already with the LSA. They can keep all the fancy ZL1 gadgets. Just sayin'.
