If you have a decent camera. Put the camera in Macro mode (usually the icon with the flower on it) and take a shot close up. The picture should come out crystal clear and show the imperfections. Do this in the sunlight or a well lit area and turn the flash off.

Hey i had the same thing happen to me in my car but i have the 21 inch black wheels on my car from factory which were a $4,800 option... and when this happen i brought the car in for a serpentine belt squeak and the car only has 1,200 miles on it. i didnt notice the wheel had been scratched until i got home. I WAS SO PISSED!!!!!! I called my service advisor right away and he told me to take it in. A couple of days later i did and dropped off the car. It was a small scratch similar to yours but it was a big deal to me!! They fixed it but they buffed it out or something. Well it worked but since i know about it it bothers me! Dont like it but can live with it!!

Hey, I called the service writer to let her know that I am not entirely happy with the repaired rim. She is going to speak with her manager and call me tomorrow. I will keep you informed of my progress. Thank you so much for the replies to my post. I have learned so much from the Camaro5 forum.

Wow, a lot of people had this happen. My dealer had to replace a tire pressure sensor and buggered up my wheel also. I noticed it as soon as I got home and I called the dealer but they immediately denied doing it. I talked to my salesman who I have purchased many cars from and he talked to the Service Manager and told him that I wasn't the kind of person that would make this claim if it wasn't true.

They ended up replacing my 20" wheel at their cost.

Hi, I just want to let you know that my damaged wheel was replaced yesterday by the dealership with a new factory wheel. It took a little while, but I just had faith that the dealership was going to do the right thing eventually. I think they were experimenting with some sources for repaired wheels. They tried repairing my original wheel that was damaged. She also ordered a second replacement wheel that she was not happy with either. That's when she went for the new, new wheel. Thank you for all of your posts. Thank you to Chevrolet Customer Service for your post. I told my service writer all about this forum for a great reference for her. Love My Car, Lisa

Interesting to see many people have had issues with their tires at the dealership. I had a leak in my rear tire, took it in and had it patched Thursday. Drove to work yesterday and she was really shaking after about 67mph. I brought her back to the dealership this morning and it turns out the wheel were never balanced once put back on! She is smooth as silk now.
