first impressions

Ok got the G-max tires on the rear of my Camaro. Man do they have an aggressive tread, wasted no time testing them out, spun a little rubber for a couple miles. they grip pretty well, and look good. noticed no chirp when I hit the gas hard, in the couple curves I hit hard they stuck very well. Very pleased. will work them a little more and post this week end with further thoughts. here is a pic, wheels are a little dirty, raining off and on. Luckily I only live about a mile or so from them. Name: newreartires5-17-11 005.jpg

can't believe I'm posting this, excuse the road grime

these should look awesome once I can get them washed and some dressing on the rubber, these wheel wells were spotless just four days ago, ugh, hate rainy season. the shop must not change the water in the tank they use to check for leaks. these things have some major grime on them. tried to hose them off a bit but will have to wait a day or two to clean them right

I had exclaim UHP (the predecessor to this tire) on my old ride and loved them. Would buy these tires come time for new meats if I couldn't find some used P-Zero take-offs for cheap

I am impressed with what I have seen on these so far. We should be testing this tire later on this spring. I will be sure to post my thoughts.

I would like to point out W is a 168 mph. Should be fine for most I hope.

OK put some miles on these the last couple days, ran them pretty hard and I have to admit I can't tell a whole lotta difference from the pirelli's. granted the Pirellis seemed to grip the road harder but not that much more than the Gmax's. didn't notice any roll in hard cornering. Not chirps with hard accellerations. and they look alot more agressive in the tread design. Really impressed with these tires!

I will be ordering a set of these as well, 10 months old with 20,000 miles this could get to be an expensive habit

Not to mention this cool bit:

P-Zero 245/45/20 = 32 lbs / tire
P-Zero 275/40/20 = 35 lbs / tire

64 lbs front
70 lbs rear
134 lbs total

AS-03 245/45/20 = 26 lbs / tire
AS-03 275/40/20 = 30 lbs / tire

52 lbs front
60 lbs rear
112 lbs total

Not only do you gain All Season, they're cheaper AND you'll save about 22 lbs outer rotating mass... That's about what a racing brake setup gives you on weight that's much closer to the rotational center for about 1/2 the price.
