Last weekend I added a ground between the driver's side front of the head and the chassis ground bolt up close to the airbox/inner fender.

The biggest battery style connectors I could find in a store were 2 gauge at Autozone, and I got 2 gauge insulated copper wire at Lowe's.

I also removed the big ground wire between the front passenger head and the chassis, and I wire brushed all the connector surfaces.

Also disassembled the positive junction block on the driver's side (jumper post thing) and wire brushed all of those connector surfaces.

I did all this to try to help hot starts. It's been cold so I haven't had a good test yet.
Did these resolve your hot starting?

Yes, no problems so far (knock on wood).

Did this this past weekend, wired brushed all connections. We noticed that the engine ground had 2 nuts on the bolt from the engine block. Moved the terminals under the first nut to the engine block, I didn't understand why the ground was between two nuts and not right on the block. Startups have been great since then.

Wierd it was attached like that. Maybe affected resistance just enough to reduce flow that only manifested on hot starts extra draw need.

Never heard of it and never had an issue. Early build 2010 2SS L99 fires up perfect every time. 75,500 miles

Common when running long tubes due to proximity of pass side header to starter

Did you already add a 2nd ground or positive post bypass?

Before wrapping your headers you may want to consider adding a bypass cable to the underhood positive battery post to pull more electrons/amps thru the starter to make up for the reduction in electrons/amps caused by the resistance of the positive battery post sheet metal bracket.

I did do the bypass with zero gauge wire around the terminal post because of the change in gauge, I still get a problem when its over 90 and it set a record this last month hottest ever here and only a couple times stop and go starting after running hot it dragged..solution ...wait for it to cool down some..I want to vent the hood more but the heat from the headers is way hot down there, I too wish to wrap my headers some day.

This is not a new problem to headers, old chevys would eat starters in a year or so from heat and just shoot them into freezing up but hey they were a lot cheaper starters and engine bays were a lot bigger...….
