What shape were the reflectors in any fading, burnt spots? What Kelvin did you go with?

Bump for more subscribers Here’s a one time chance (see posts 1&2) to save hundreds of $$$ when the time comes to replace aging/dimming eom HID headlights with Morimoto projectors (with NO modification!!!) instead of the VERY costly entire headlight assembly.

This sounds very interesting. I'm assuming these headlights are amazing if this being attempted? Just wondering before I say yes. I do want a brighter looking light like these newer cars, granted Im pretty sure their all 5k but their definitely brighter than my car, 11SS HID.

The eom HIDs are that good (not so much with after market) except for the plastic projector bowl witch fades over time which causes dimming. Replacing the bulbs with new HIDs or LEDs “may help some for a while depending on the condition of the projector bowl but replacing the projectors with Morimito projectors IS a longer lasting and much cheaper solution (especially if you DIY) to dimming headlights compared to the cost of buying replacement HID headlights

Mine aren’t dim yet but it’s only a matter of time so I want to get the customized Morimoto bracket now while they’re willing to make it for when the time does comes to make it a plug n play fit rather than to have to hack the eom bracket. You may want to get them for the same reason.

Interesting. I have a 2011 SS so I'd guess it's about time? Looking at the lights from the front they look white, but sitting in the driver seat, the road has a yellowish tint. I'd really like that bright white that my wife's 2019 Chevy Equinox has. Would these Morimotos achieve that?

I have cars passing me with their "halo lights" or accent lighting brighter than my stock HIDS. I have Diode Dynamics bulbs, i tried phillips osram, nightbreaker and all and it doesnt help. The reflector bowls just suck. The Morimotos are metal i believe which will hold up much better to the heat. even if not this would be a retrofit that would last another 10+ years vs new bulbs that dont do much for us.

Lol yes I do notice halos and accents brighter than mine. Reminds me, i wouldn't mind switching out that LED for the Halos 🤔. Put me down on the list.

Never been interested in those kits. Always wanted to just replace the LED but finding a part number for it has been a pain. One day....
