Well, although as much as we expected or would like to think, it is not pulling 11.xx's in stock form. The good news is the platform is so stout and sound that it does not require much to do so. And the canyon carving aspect is already in the bag. This car does maneuvering tricks that will astound you. The handling is so precise and sharp, it will blow your mind unless you drive road race courses on a regular basis.

It doesn't. It needs less weight.

More power is probably easier and cheaper. Less weight requires more exotic materials, because I really don't think GM is going to remove ammenities, and they sure as heck aren't going to remove A/C, heater, or anything crash-related. Adding more power is probably the best bet (if any at all). My problem is, if I were thinking it's as easy as an LS9 cam, and maybe blower, it takes more to support those parts for similar power. There's a reason GM wanted Ti valves and rods - they wanted to rev' to 6500, and felt it was necessary to control the valvetrain better with less weight. Anyways - I think the fastest and maybe least expensive way would be the 2300 and a cam with more lift; Heck - maybe just a bit bigger cam and add a little more boost to get it back to 9-psi with the cam.

Whatever the case, I'm more confident the TR6060 will handle the extra power (and maybe extra RPM-range if there is a different cam), and think the rest of the driveline would be up to it. How could a 9.9" diff' not, lol?

I think GM SHOULD make any efforts to improve the power they can. I really don't think they can ignore that ZL1 could use it. It's one think to be a tenth away at the strip - the situation now, is quite different. However - it's opposite around a track, but there have been great times by the Imp, too. Chassis-wise - I couldn't ask for more.

I propose an Z07-style package for ZL1, like Z06 has: 2300 or a few more psi from the 1900 (I just think jumping to the 2300 would introduce less heat than adding more boost from the 1900), and maybe more aggressive springs and stab' bars. Better yet - consider it a 1LE-package for ZL1

I'm not up-to-speed in this thread, so if this is a repost, I'm sorry :(

JMVHO.

I like...I'm going to use that analogy in other applications...if you don't mind.

I doubt it. Buy what YOU won't -- and don't buy of off speculation or assumptions.
