So, how do we get our hands on the GM darkened tail lamps?

I want them. I want them day one. Anyone have a clue?

I want them day one too. I've been bugging my dealer about it and have a meeting with him on the 8th so if I find out anything I'll post it.

Me too. So sexy. I wonder how well a painted/tinted stock set would look.

I found a professional graphics shop that is willing to do all the work for free in exchange for getting all the dimensions as well as using it in advertising. You guys should contact a shop near you to see if they'll do the same for you. I think it's worth it and may look just as good

I will post pics once it's done. They have to keep my car to measure everything as well as trial and error on the tinted taillights... if they do good I will get the info to you.

Sounds great. Please do. I have a feeling GM is going to want $700for the tinted tails.

I certainly hope not! I was really hoping it's just a cover that attaches on. A whole new set of taillight would be so expensive

yeah those tail lights are going to be a little more difficult than just slapping some tint on them. It could definitely be a DIY but, would take a little bit of work and some balls. Remove them from the vehicle, mask off the lens part where you will put tint on later, paint the part that will be exposed, tint the area that needs it, and then replace on vehicle. Could try plastidip first instead of paint and see if it holds up. That way you could remove that and the tint later on if you need to. Shouldn't cost you more than $30-$40 depending on the quality of tint you purchase.

Do none of you consider using window tint? I find its an easy solution, and if you use high quality tint it looks like OEM/ non cheesy...
