LS/RS vs 2LT/RS?

It has always been my intention to get a 2LT/RS but it looks like my wife will be losing her job by the end of the month so now I'm looking at a cheaper way to go. Today I stopped at a dealership in Welland and they had a LS/RS. Because I wanted the 2LT I never knew you could get the RS package on a LS version. I noticed there was no gauge cluster on the center console, what other options would I be missing out on if I went with a LS/RS?

Had to be a 1LT/RS you saw. You cannot get the RS package on the LS.

I just called the dealership and you are right, it is a 1LT/RS. I guess the low MSRP of $31,xxx had me thinking it had to be a LS.

OK, let's start over, what options do I lose dropping down to a 1LT/RS over the 2LT/RS?

I got my LS for 23000, and i just got a set of RS wheels for 900 plus fog lights for 150, and a rear spoiler for 150, i can spend another grand and get the RS headlights and the camaro would pretty much look like an RS.

My point is, if youre tight on money like me, get youre self an LS and just start adding stuff to it. just my 2 cents.

sorry to hear about ur wife's job.

The difference between 1lt and 2lt is.
USB port. bluetooth. (u can add this to 1lt with c&c package which also has leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter)
premium boston acoustics speakers (u can also add it)
centre gauge console.
leather seats.
Auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror.

basically 2LT just adds a lot to the interior. I think its worth the price diff. but 1LT is not bad at all. The cloths seats are very comfortable and feels high grade. also the 2LT might add more to the resell value if that is a concern.

good luck on ur purchase!

The 3 posts above are all great ideas, thanks.

Does anyone know if the gauge cluster can be added later?

i have seen people selling the gauge clusters so i assume it can be added later. but it could take a lot of time and effort. Personally i think those gauges are there just to add a cool look on the car. unless you do real racing or professional modding then its not a big deal

You can easily add them. Plug and play and it's easy. Many up here have done it.

yeah u can buy it and add it on..
i know what you are feeling because i was going thru the same thing...
i do somewhat regret not getting the 2lt... but im happy with my car because performance wise its the same thing, ive heard ppl complaining about the leather seats having a stretched effect so i dont feel bad about it... the only thing i wish i had gotten extra was the C&C so i can play my ipod, bluetooth... but hey, i still love my car, built the way i wanted it
