Anyone who bought one of the steering wheel centers from aesthetic creations. . .

Why won't mine stay on?

I have now bought two of the Autobot emblem steering wheel decals from Aesthetic Creations and have not been able to get either one to stay on. The first one was likely my fault as I forgot to shake the tube of tape primer before I applied it. After that I tried using a 3M plastic emblem and trim adhesive to help it stick, but that didn't work either. In trying to remove the decal to start over, I ripped it, so I threw it away and bought another one.

This time I thoroughly cleaned (or so I thought) the steering wheel with Goo gone followed by isopropyl alcohol before I tried applying the emblem. I aslo remembered to shake the primer before I used it, but still the decal comes loose. I also tried using a blow drier to help the glue stick but that didn't work either.

Did anyone else have any issues with these, and if so, how did you solve the problem? I am now thinking about trying super glue, but am not sure if that will work either and am leary about what it may do to the steering wheel if I decide to remove the emblem at a later date. Any help and insight would be appreciated!

OK here is the item I am talking about for anyone who does not know. Keep in mind this picture was taken shortly after I first applied the first decal, before the problems began, and is how the decal should fit. I noticed the next morning that it was coming loose. I will take and post a picture of how it currently is staying tomorrow morning.

OK here is what keeps happening. The decal stays on in one area, but pulls up from the rest of the steering wheel. I have tried smoothing it back down many times, but within a few hours it is back to this. Once again, any suggestions or solutions others used are appreciated!

use the 3m double sided adhesive( the same ones used for emblems) , fold up a towel, tape it down to put even pressure until the adhesive adheres...

I have these and yes the same exact thing happened to me. I got tired of trying to keep it down so i went to Walmart and bought some of that double sided adhesive used to hang things up on the wall. Ripped off a couple pieces and stuck it all on the back of the wheel cover. Never lifted since. and you can't see the adhesive.

Great, thanks! My mom suggested trying this, but I hadn't had the chance to get any yet. I'm glad to hear that it should work.

i would say the manufacture of this item is asking for trouble,, you glue that item on your airbag, the cover needs to split as designed for the airbag to deploy, then in an accident the airbag does not deploy as designed or the item slices someones face open,,

really not a good idea at all to glue or put anything over the airbag

Yea super glue would be a terrible idea. That double sided adhesive shouldn't be stronger than the force of the airbag deploying. I can actually peel it right off if i wanted to with little effort.

It's your car telling you it looks dumb. Your car is NOT a transformer. It does NOT drive itself or turn into a robot.

Heed the advise of above, remove it or if you ever get in a crash, you may have pieces of that in your eye.
