2012 v6 oil filter
Where is it at ? and is it really the little paper filter that shows up at auto zone as the part.?

Yup! It is in a cast canister on the upper drivers side of the motor.

Yep......I can't vouche for the filtration quality right now but I think it is a toss up between Mobil 1 and K&N. I think both are 97% filtration.
