I don't think too many care ... we just like to play guessing games on Camaro5 to pass the time.

I think it becomes a bigger deal when you consider a poor rating will merit a gas-guzzler charge of at least $1000.00 when its closest competitor does not.

The CTS-V manages a 14 city 19 hwy, and the GT500 manages 15/23...I hope Chevy can at least match the GT500 to avoid the tax, like it does...

Premium vs. Regular doesn't scare me....nor does the "low" fuel economy numbers...it's that stupid tax I'd rather not have to pay...

If it avoids the GG tax then here's one surprised C5member.

It going to less then that for the ZL1 since it will weigh more then the CTS-V does. My guess is 12 city and 18 Highway. But a lot has to do with how you drive too. If you do not go into drag race mode all the time; you could get a higher MPG but not that much better may be 2 or 3 mpg.

Indications are that it will weigh LESS than the CTS-V.

The fuel gauge needle will be going down in direct proportion to the boost gauge needle going up!
But who cares, I'll probably get 6 mpg and enjoy every minute of it.

Where do you get the idea that it will weigh more than the CTS-V? That would make it some 400 lbs more than an SS. I'm not sure how it would be possible for GM to add that much weight to the car unless they made them all convertibles.

I wouldn't be...if you look at it...there's really not that much against it the concept.

It's got a more efficient blower than the GT500, should be a little more slippery, and weight will be negligible here...the LS engines have always been known for their unrealistically-high fuel economy numbers...so if Ford can magically increase the GT500's rating, then I have faith that Chevy can pull some tricks out of their sleeves, too.

Right now, though, I just want'em to release the rest of the juicy details!

I'm thinking it will still have a GG tax ... but only the minimum. Then again, I thought the 'base V8' (vs the supercharged engine) would be the 6.0L L76 and the model it was in would be the Z28 ... so I don't have the greatest record with these prediction things, lol

I predict that the gas gauge on the ZL1 will move in the opposite direction of the speedometer at a slightly slower pace.
