1LE can’t get alignment
Since I bought the car back at the end of April, it has pulled to the right somewhat and when you are driving straight the steering wheel is about 3-4 degrees to the left. Took it to two tire places in town and both said the wheels are too big to do the alignment with their tools; not sure what that means since I assume they do alignments on trucks. Took it to the dealer today and they said they can’t get the car on the alignment machine because the front end is too low to make it up the ramp. Seems kind of silly a dealership can’t service a factory vehicle that hasn’t been lowered or otherwise modded.
Looks like I will have to call a bunch of places about an hour away or so to see if they can do it. Anyone else had this problem? |

You took it to a GM/Chevy Dealer and they said they can't do it? That would for sure mean they can't align a Vett either.

+1 what kind of nonsense is that? Maybe you live in area where people don't normally drive sports cars or something I've never heard anyone say wheels are too big, or car is too low. I've been so several places where they just have wood planks laying around for these kinds of situations. Must not want you money bad enough.

Look up alignment shops on Tire rack and use one of them. I got new Continental tires installed and aligned on my 2019 ZL1 in May and although not cheap it was NO issue....

They actually had a vette in one of the bays when I went in there because they wanted to ask if it was possible to remove the front splitter lol.

Belle tire did mine, took them a bit to figure it out but I had them set it at the GM track settings. -2 on front and -1.5 on the rear. It’s really a nice street set up.
Take the GM documentation with you otherwise they won’t do it.

Definitely a first! I guess there’s a dealer I wouldn’t want touching my car if they couldn’t pull off a simple alignment. Wow

What kind of worthless dealer service department can't do an alignment?
It's not necessarily required to use an elaborate computerized alignment rack; you can DIY this if you absolutely have to, using about $50 worth of stuff from Home Depot. That said, I'd just go looking for shop that does racecars and pay the $200 or so it's likely to cost to have them do it properly. Edit: Does your car have a bunch of aftermarket aero farkles, like a carbon splitter, skirts, et cetera? I could maybe see them looking at that and thinking the potential for damage to those things outweighs whatever they'd be able to charge you for this. |

I've been tempted to do the adjustment myself. I might end up just doing that.
Looking at all the dealerships near to me, they all have at least at least 10 days out before I can get an appointment, if not longer. Seems weird since I used to be able to schedule the day of if I needed to, but now none of them have anything sooner than the week of Sep 13. Found a shop about an hour away that just works on sport cars, so hopefully they should be able to do it. |

Finally found a place that could get it aligned. Looking at the dash camera footage, the guy who drove it on the alignment machine was cussing up a storm about how much he hated the car because he couldn't see out of it.
Just need to replace the front passenger tire and hopefully should be good to go. |

Its in spec but I think it's crap, camber left -1.15, and right -1.69, that's the "I'm too lazy to get in to the camber" nonsense that I dealt with last time I had my car on a rack.
