Better bushings for stock SS shifter

I have searched and searched for an upgraded bushing kit for our shifters with no luck. I know hurst now makes a bushing that goes in the end of the shift lever its self. But what about the rubber bushings at the end of the shift base. The MTI shifter has Delrin or nylon bushings in the two holes that go to the trans. Wish someone made those in brass.

Mustangs have the option of brass bushings up front and poly ones shown here. Not sure how similar they are. The shifter is different but the trans are the same or similar tr6060. Anyone tried them?

It seems many people on CTSVs and 4th gen fbody do "the Home Depot mod". They are blue hard plastic bushings from the electrical section. Anyone ever heard of that for our cars?

Also I was wondering if anyone had ever install the shifter springs front a V6 Camaro in an SS to tighten up the on center.

I really have no issues with the throw and generally do not care for short throw shifters in any car. Just looking for a little slop as possible.

Yes, we do have ours getting ready. The vast majority of the movement in the shifter is in the rear mount. The front rubber bushings have hardly any deflection, and serve mostly for noise isolation. Here is the pic of ours mounted to a stock hurst short throw, along with the stock rubber mount. You can see how the rubber would move a lot, and give the shifter the sloppy feel. The mount shown has delrin bushings, but we have poly on the way to get the noise level more in line with what would be expected in a daily driver.

Cool, exactly the type of thing I was looking for. Please update when it is ready.

Noise and vibes are not an issue in a DD for me. My wife's hates riding in my car so it's usually just me. Plus I like all the feedback.

Credit card in hand!

Will do. with the intention of being a diy install, the delrin bushings were a little difficult to slide onto the shifter, because it is a casting. The poly bushings will allow for a much easier install as well. We made 3 prototypes, all three are in local cars, and the guys love them. Very comparable to a billet shifter in feel, maybe 85-90% as good at a much lower projected cost. Our target customers are those with short throw shifter arms already, stock or aftermarket, that just want the more solid feel of a full shifter replacement without all the cost. I just have to get one more stock shifter asembly for final fitment of the mount. Guess I need to post up on the classifieds....

I am also interested in your new shifter bushings. I just installed a Barton short throw in my 2014 1LT/RS. Kind of clunky until i learned how to shift it. I have the shifter that I took out if you want it, just the stick, and an OEM short throw assembly that I'm not using. If you're interested shoot me a PM. Thanks

Thanks for the interest! I'm getting a couple shifters, hopefully soon, so that I can set up a fixture so that everyone can really see how much of a difference it makes.

Cash in hand. Vibrations don't bother me. Already have Polly mounts on everything and my exhaust is dumped out of my hood.

Our shifter rear mount that we are making is for those that do not wish to spend the money on a full replacement, i.e. they are happy with their stock short throw or already have a short throw handle, but want to tighten it up a bit to get rid of some of the sloppiness. They are on our production schedule for this month or early next month.

Any chance you have a running list of interested parties I could be added too! I have a mostly stock 15 1LE that I would like to eliminate some shifter slop, without replacing allot of expensive parts, or adding more bad noise.
