12.7 to 12.8s, and in the best DA of the year for me I ran 12.60 and that was around 700. For a Bolton ls3 to be stuck in the 13s is bad driving or real bad track prep! I went from 13.0s to 12.60-70 with just some practice behind the wheel. Redline shifting slows this car down, and launching under 3 grand will get you a 13 sec slip about every time! I don't even drive that good, my shifting speed needs work for sure. I bet I had 12.5s if I kept at it with just the headers, to late now though LOL

Hey dadstoy,
Yes! We must do that again.... I was super happy to meet you on friday, it was like meeting an old friend These forums are great for so many things, but a big part of them is the cool people you never would have gotten to meet who love muscle So... times I did not keep any of my timeslips... but I was the guy who ran a 13.6 @ 109 mph... I cut a terrible .3 reaction time and a 2.1 60' .... that was my first run and the last run was soooooo late in the evening and I was so frustrated I just wanted to get out of there... ran a 13.9 @ xxx didnt care to look ... The other LS3 is a member on this website... his best was a 13.5 @ ??? .... I really dont remember his trap speed but I think it was 107-08. Maybe he'll chime in but I *think* my trap speed was higher. I cannot vouch for his 2nd run, but I think we were both tired and ready to get back to downtown houston. I really think this was due to weather and being rusty at drag racing ... I've never driven at a place as nicely prepped as Royal Purple Raceway. All in all, there were a ton of cool cars and I would love to live there this summer All in all, it was great to meet you dadstoy, and it was fun going out with some C5 members and just enjoying the racetrack. Hope you made it home safe John, we'll do it again in the future for sure ... Time for headers... I miss my LS1.... sooo much more of a drag car

I launched at 1800-2100 tops and red line shifting.. in fact, my 13.6 run I over-revved from 1-2 and 2-3 ... Oh well, that gives me hope there is more in my car than it showed last friday. Looks like I have all summer to work on it, hopefully I can go a day that you can get more than 2 runs in all evening

You would have a tough time running 12's with any car doing something like that. What did you expect? |

hey Patrick,
again very nice to finally meet you. I did get the track schedule and they are open almost year round so we will go back maybe november or January and hope for good temps. it does make a difference. I think I showed you my spread sheet and predicted my 12.7-12.8 based on temperature. hopefully around Decvember we can get 50 or 60 degree temps and not have 300 cars to wait on. did not matter if you let you car cool down, by the time you got through the line, your car was hot if you did not push it to the line. sucked they had the big wreck that shut down the track but we will do this again. |

Guys this is exactly what I am talking about, no offense because I was there....but yes that is really bad driving! I have been racing for 16 years now and the first 3 trips to the track in this car I was stuck in the 13.0-13.1 with 2.1 60s just like that. I was getting pissed because my 112 traps told me I had a mid 12 sec car without the slips. Then I figure screw it, reved it up to about 4k and some how got it to stick, and bam 12.70 from a 13.0, then next pass bam 12.60! I started messing with shift points after learning these cars need RPMs out of the hole with a slip of the clutch, and found taking it to redline was also slowing me down.
It definitly has taken me some practice and I still think I have allot to learn behind the wheel of this thing. Just keep it up man, pratice makes perfect just like in any other thing! Your car has allot left in it, but it will only be as fast as you can drive it... you auto guys dont need to worry bout that LOL
