Changing color on interior door panels (not Painting)

So in a couple of weeks when my vinyl gets delivered I am going to try and change the door panels by adding transparent yellow vinyl. This will go over the panels so the ambient light still shows and hopefully it will change the color to a metallic yellow. I will post pics once done. The panels below are the ones I'm going to do except mine are stock silver color.

I don't think this will get you the results you are looking for. Yellow and silver mixed together make a off color green.

You might end up with a darker yellow. For example.......

I had the 2003 Jeff Gordon edition Monte Carlo with the ghost flames. Those flames were a transparent silver overlay. All it did was make a darker blue which gave the ghost flame affect.

I wouldn't do it. If you are doing vinyl fabric you really should get a set of 1SS Door & dash inserts to do it on. I don't think you'll get the results you want adding it over top of the OEM ambient lighting panels. I think it will be too thick to work, plus I don't see that clear plastic responding well to the fabric & adhesive.

These are the painted plastic panels so the vinyl should work. Worst case I do one and then if I don't like the finish I will remove it and go the route of repainting them.

Like Draco said: Off color Green. Albeit a cool looking green! I don't think it will go with your Yellow exterior (IMO), but that would look awesome with an Ashen/Cyber Grey, or even Aqua/Imperial/Velvet Blue

It actually looks less green in person. Photos look a little off. I will post another picture when I get done and put it in the sun.

Thinking of doing vinyl on my door and dash panels also
How have they held up ? What brand of vinyl did you use ?
Any tips or suggestions?

I used cheap vinyl and it didn't stay on. Would peel around the edges. I never finished and. Will probably paint them.
