DIY GPS mount
I figured a easy eay to mount my Tom Tom GPS instead of using the Windshield.
I went to Harbor Freight and bought a 99 cent Belt clipped measuring tape that had a black clip on it. I removed the clip and then losened the top dash trim next to the Tachometer pod. I slipped the clip from under the trim so it will be exposed and hold on the the trim piece.. I snapped the trim piece back into place. I then modified the tom tom factory mount by remobing the suction cup and cutting the mount portion in half. I then ground down the edges of the plastic so it would be as thin as i could and still be strong. Now I can slip that part into the spring clip (In the pic I didn;t have it pushed all the way down) and snap the GPS into the Tom Tom mount and it works great. easy to reach and not in the way of anything. Plus if I decide to move it farther over to the right it wonIt be hard to do. I think other GPS units could be adapted to work like this also..

I moved it over to the center of the dash between the Center AC vents per wife's suggestion. She likes to play with the GPS too while we are driving, so now she can reach it also...

another option (for Garmins):
The Garmin suction mount will fit snug right in the drivers side window defroster. I was looking for a place to mount mine so I popped the vent out of the defroster port. I pushed the mount into the port.... and "snap".... it clipped right in. It has been in there for about 10 months now with no problems.

Like I said, it has been in there for over 10 months without falling out. Also, in my old car it was screwed directly into the dash, and it wiggled when I hit bumps... not in the Camaro.

Ok, I'll add my Garmin mount hard wired to the fuse box.
