Help, my AC shut off due to high engine temp. - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I was driving down the road and get a message saying my AC was turned off due to high engine temps. The oil temp light is on 100 and the engine temp is on C. I turned off the car and they move back and forth so clueless on the problem. Thanks for any help.

Used to have a Chrysler that would shut off the AC when the car was running too hot, mostly at idle. The car was old with many hard miles on it. Sorry but I don't have an answer. Just saying the car is programmed to do that.

Any fix for this? Mine is doing the same starting this morning.

I haven't had my AC belt on in over a year anyway but the temp gauge is at bottom on cold too.

May want to get it checked out, a/c works very good at Arizona temps and up long, steep grades. ....so far up to 113°F.

My dealers down here I do not trust.

The car is not overheating. All fluid levels are fine. Something is making it give me this message and deactivates the temp gauge.

I've read a few other threads as well but nothing conclusive.

I guess I'll have to start with the temp sensor.

And my own thread. hahaha

Not right unless it is really super hot outside , Todays cars are not like the 70's cars , Should be able to handle it , I wouldnt know I currently reside in Wisconsin

Interested in a solution here. Those who posted so far with this issue have 2010/2011 cars and, although I hardly use my AC at all - I'd be worried if this happened to me.

Really you hardly use it at all and you live in Riverside ? I live in So Cal for over a decade and this time of year I would have mine cranking

lol, yeah... I hardly use it. Probably only use it when there's a passenger on board, for their comfort really. I drive with my windows about 1/3 down on both sides, with the occasional sunroof open. I'm good, I survive... even in 100+ degree weather. Also love listening to the exhaust. My radio don't get much play either lol.
