Please don't shoot me or vote me off the island....
As some folks may or may not know I had to sell my 2010 LS3 back in May as it just didn't fit the household (wife that couldn't drive stick, four small kids with only two seat belts in the back seat, and quite a bit of bumper-to-bumper traffic driving that because of the cam I had in the car was just becoming too much of a pain in the ass for me. All that added up to "sell the car". I had been driving my 13 year old beater I held onto throughout my Camaro ownership and was on the fence about what to get next. I was definitely considering the ZL1 but getting an automatic so the wife could drive it but it still only had two seat belts in the back which sounds like a weak excuse but for a car I plan on owning for a decade or more it definitely weighed heavily in my negotiations with the wife. After shopping around I settled on a car that was an automatic, had a good size back seat with plenty of leg room and headroom, and had three shoulder/lap belts from the factory.
Please don't hate on me (flame suit on as a precaution) A 2012 Challenger SRT8 Automatic I do have to admit, this is a REALLY fun car and Chrysler has introduced the magnetic ride control into the suspension which makes for a really nice ride under normal conditions that dynamically adjusts as you drive the car harder or you can just set "Sport Mode" and it firms all the way up for a really tight ride. No modding yet though, gotta wait until I pay it off plus the 2011/2012 Chrysler ECMs are encrypted but haven't been cracked yet which is a blessing in disguise because then I am not tempted to mod. I'll probably leave the car stock for a long time and then eventually do a nice Nitrous setup for taking the car to the strip. It has plenty of power for me on the street and the wife should be ok with it in its stock form and then I can put a 150-200 wet shot on top of it with a dedicated fuel system later on to have some additional fun at the track.

My wife loves her Challenger. I think the electonics packages blow away the camaro, and the interior may be a bit nicer. But to me it is still not a camaro, which I have dreamed about since I was a kid. She took delivery in August and I have still have found no need to drive her car.
One thing to watch, her stripes already have issues with breakage on the spoiler. |

What are the specs on that baby? Looks like a beautiful car. The Challengers just aren't for me. Just too big and bulky and the rear is huge. But it is your car and thats all that matters

That's a beautiful car man! I was thinking about buying one I just ended up going with the camaro. I love seeing these cars on the road. When I was a kid this is what was considered style and it's finally come back around. Did you see the English guys from Top Gear take these through California and into the salt flats in Utah? They fell in love with Challenger and the Corvette.

No flameage here. Nice car. If not for you I'd have never learned about Pocono Raceway and their "drive your own" training courses.
Haven't done it yet but. |

Sweet car. I recently traded my charger in for my camaro ss, and to be honest, i was kind of torn between the camaro and a challenger srt. I think the main deciding factor for me was the big price difference.
I like the color. I think getting the stripes redone in red to match the brakes and badges would lokk sick. |
