I’m not sure that just those are enough to pass UK IVA 3-5% rear/side view visibility as an Indicator or Signal Turn alone?

Trevor what do you say? :-O

If you stand 1m to the left or right of rear of vehicle, 50% of the light surface should be visible. That's within a 5° and 60° arc from the light unit.

Mine passed the IVA like this, guess it depends how good the tester is at working out angles.

Will easily pass any MOT as they just want to see a flashing light on the side of the vehicle

I've a Eurospec car. The mirrors are bit like they came off a truck, not as sweetly svelt as the US mirrors. BUT in a left hooker, and with the blind spots... i decided they were a bit of 'extra visual' assurance and mine are staying

previous to this I had an S197 Mustang which had similar dumbo sized mirrors but replaced them with Agent 47 60's/retro style tear-drops. Best thing I ever did. That said there are too many other things on my initial "to do list" to worry about this just yet

well quick up-date time....

Car's been booked in for a little visual up-grade (should've been done AGES ago but that's a, very, sore point!) still toying with the idea of painted stripes while it's away; although the price is more than vinyl it doesn't seem to be massively more - plus I can then get a (semi)custom colour. I have decided against white since I just can't stop seeing a clown fish

The exhaust may well be whipped off while the paint is being done and I'll be running on open pipes for a couple of weeks to see/hear/feel what it's like, currently too quiet - my SLK55 is louder which won't do

Turns out that I already have remote start, I'd just been using the spare rather than main key which I guess I should've been using RTFM! Oh well, one less thing to cost me money.

I went ahead and had a DAB module fully fitted - bloody thing doesn't work on the Camaro , too much interference, oh well was fully refunded so it's not all bad, though I do miss my internet radio stations.

well time for a little update:

- Went for a 'personalised plate' for the car.

- I managed to snag a duck-tail spoiler, was yellow but even if I'd found a new one I'd have had to have it re-sprayed so that was all good and then I wanted to get rid of the vinyl stripes (they had faded and were needing to be replaced at some point) and replaced with paint along with a few extra painted highlights. So with this in mind...

the Chevy badge (suitably modded) will be going back on as will new SS badges front and rear (the Euro-spec SS Camaro is badged up as an RS)

Certainly made it yours Always good to be a bit different, looks cool.

Have you thought about getting the four side markers working just to add to the look?

I also noticed your pipes are gone....what's going on back there then?

TBH at the moment I'm not sure - I like the volume but it can sound a little rough (and the drone at 45ish is indescribably bad!). The initial idea was to maybe get some glasspacks to smooth things out a little but more recently I've been thinking about going with J-pipes instead - I just need to sell the SLK before that happens though

Another small update...

For most of this year and last I'd had an idea to replace the black wheels with something bigger and, well, less black. I appreciate that black seems quite 'on trend' at the moment, but I've disliked them from the moment I saw the car. Armed with permission from SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) to go and splurge in the end I decided that I couldn't justify the extra cost given:
A - the state of the £/$ exchange rate
B - potentially far higher costs thanks to this year's bogeyman, CV19 (transport for US parts to the UK seems to have become rather unpleasant)
C - possible fitment issues (apparently the SS is quite sensitive to aftermarket rims)

So I booked in a session with a local specialist to have them powder-coated. Man, who knew that choosing a colour could be that bloody hard (the colours I wanted I wasn't able to get a paint code for - pics were no good because different angles, obviously, give different shade).

All that being said I'm properly pleased with the results - they really look good in sunlight, not that we've had much these last few days!
