My whole life is like this. lol

It can be expected, the car does have 116,000 miles on it and they haven't been easy ones to be honest. Although it hasn't been to the strip yet it has seen more 1/8 and 1/4 mile pulls than you could imagine.

I just unbolted the fuel rail but this is still way to hot to be messing around with fuel so I'm gonna let it cool a bit before I test the injectors.

Doesn't seem to be a bad injector but it threw a p219b. It dawned on me that there's a good chance I have a bad converter. After all the gas and oil pushed through the exhaust it makes sense. Tomorrow I'll have a buddy of mine throw it on his lift and check them. I'm now pretty sure that may be the problem.

Not running 100% but getting there. Converter was shot along with an 02 sensor. Good news is there is no smoking and no apparent damage. I'm playing with valve lash trying to find the sweet spot and I'm getting close.

Starting , drivability and braking are very good now and although I haven't brought the rpm's up very high yet power feels real good.

Yes it is. I went through this with the last LLSR that was in it. There's no way this thing can run super low lash as the specs call for so what I found works best is I increase lash by .002 until I see no change in performance then go back to the previous setting. This allows the tightest lash my particular set up likes. It's a little time consuming but once you've got it figured out future adjustments are a breeze, my set up comes apart pretty quick and I'm planning on making my coil mounts 1 piece to speed it up a little more whereas lash adjustments are routine.

Well, I guess I was wrong. I've been playing with valve lash and method of adjustment and I think I've got it nailed. Most likely because of the lobe profile using the EOIC method doesn't work out well. I now adjust both int. and exh. when on compression stroke. I've got lash set at .000-.001. I do have to let it warm up just a tad until lash opens up a little for good vacuum and braking but once warm all is good. I have also been chasing high STFT's on one bank, turned out to be a sticky injector. Right now it is running real strong and pulls hard. Here's a short idle clip.

Well, I guess something good came out of all of his, it sucks I spun a cam bearing on a virtually new motor but if it had not I wouldn't have changed the specs on my cam. This new set up is running real nice and drivability has improved greatly, I'd be inclined to say it was worth it. lol

I've been tinkering with a few things under the hood. Got everything dialed in and I'm very happy with the way it's running. Now I can move on to some other projects I have planned.

I haven't had the stock hood on so I'm not 100% sure but it looks like it will fit ok.

I'm really tempted to get this. I've been wanting to get one but thought they wouldn't fit under a stock hood. I think this will complement my build very well.

Unlike the cast modular midrise, which will fit with a stock hood this will fit without touching the cowl or wipers.
