Painting Bezels.

Painting My Tail Light Bezels.

I had Plasti Dip them a week or so ago, and they got raind on and the Plasti Dip Started to come off and left some water satins on them. so decided to paint them with real Paint.

I should've just painted them the first time. It looks a lot better. the Real Paint has a more smooth and refined finish than Plasti Dip. Plasti Dip look more plasticy.

First I sanded the Bezels and washed them with soapy water.

After Sanding down the Bezels and washing them with soapy water I Applied 3 coats of Adhesion Promoter. (I waited 10 between each coats.)

After Letting the last coat of adhesion promoter dry I started to to apple the paint. I did 2 light coats and 3 medium coats. (I waited about 10-15 min between coats.)

Bezels installed back on the car. I couldn't be more happier with the results!

Did you clean the bezels before you used plasti dip? Mine have lasted over 4 months. If you are going to spray them use primer too and do nice even coats. Don't want any runs and wait 15 minutes in between coats.

And don't forget a clear coat, they make them in both glossy and flat.

I did the same but with satin black. I took them off, cleaned them really good and then layed them out. I did not sand them BTW. I did a coat of adhesion promotor on each and let it dry for a few minutes. Then repeated two more times. Once they were completely dry, wait about 10 mins, I sprayed them with the paint. I waited about 5 mins between each coat, I did it in the sun so they dried fast. I did about 4 light coats. If you can still see the chrome, give it some more coats since you probably sprayed too lightly. I did not use a clear coat, no need with the adhesion promotor. It sticks and holds good.

Painting my Bezels as we speak.

Sanding it down and Painting it with real paint looks way much better than Plasti Dip.

Paint has a more smother finish. it doesn't look to plasticy.

It's not going anywhere. Sand it out or use paint thinner to take it out then redo that bezel.

That's why I used plasti dip lol. Happened to me when I used paint.

thats what I wus thinking sand it down and spray it again. thanks man!

I Plasti Dipe'd them before like a week or so ago. I didn't like how it look it looks to plasticy. and plus it got raind on at schools and it started to come off and it left Water Mark stains on the Bezels. so I just painted them with real paint.

IMO it looks better this way. it has a more smooth and refined finish compared to Plasti Dip.

I did my rear end like taylor's in plasti dip. It's smooth as hell. I did one good coat and it's smooth like paint. Re sand and start over on the bezel. Take your time and it will come out good. When you spray lift the bezel away from the paint mist, leave a shitty surface.

Sure. I'll take some tomorrow. I did one thick coat them immediately pulled the tape off. Once it starts to dry its going to stick to the tape and your screwed.
