nightshots with point and shoot.
We went out with my Sony Cybershot, turned up some iso, slowed down the shutter, opened the aperature, and snapped a few point and shoot pictures.

It depends on the shot. My Sony Cybershot does offer me manual control. The 1st shot I was at ISO250, f/2.0, 8 second shutter speed, auto wb. The 2nd shot I cranked it up to 800iso but closed the aperature to f/4.5, also 8 seconds. I was messing with different settings trying to see which captured the stars better.
