No. The new concept they unveiled would be a closer guess.

I was a big fan of the old Supras. I really hope they don't screw this one up. The pic above looks like crap. I hope Fenwick is correct.

They are billing it as the possible next car in the same line-spot that the supra and few other cars filled before.

Yeah the word is they are shooting to keep price in low 60's so should be a pretty hot car but not mass production.

That looks sweet, but why would they develop a brand new Supra when they could adopt/tweak the FR-S and stick a Toyota badge on it?

Because according to reports today, FR-S/GT-86 sales are so dismal that Toyota's not considering developing much more for it.

Damn - I really liked that car. Granted, if I were purchasing I would get the BRZ as opposed to the FR-S, but still. It was really fun to drive!

Probably because they are dumb and think 200hp is the end all be all of cheap performance car power. They are shooting their own foot by not offering a turbo model.

The problem with Toyota (and most of their fanbase) is this is still their idea of a sports car.

And I'm not joking. I once had a guy desperately try to convince me his Camry SE was a sports sedan along the lines of a Dodge Charger or Pontiac G8.

The folks within the company and enthusiasts who want a Supra revival are far outnumbered by those who just want appliances.
