Anyone had the factory screw too short to thread back in?

Yeah, some people have. Options include use a vice to smash the rivet holes, or remove one of the rivets.

Got mine done also, had to modify the strap bracket a little bit to fit just right.

I managed to do this with a $3 tie down strap I got from Home Depot. Took 10 minutes.

OP I know this is off topic, but you tail lights look phenomenal where to I get those or what do I need to do in order for them to look like yours?

Those are OEM ZL1 1LE taillights. They're made by GM and can be purchased through a GM dealer, parts department, Wildhammer, Phastek, etc.

Part number for pair of taillights: 84136777
Part number for 3rd brake light: 84330249

Also look at the Diode Dynamic dark sidemarkers. They match them dead on and complete the look, especially on white.

Personally, I think the "Jake" Skull thing is played out, but to each their own.
