The tips are worn and scored. The metal is consistant in type to that in the filter. BUT, this pump should pump just fine it looks like. The relief valve was NOT stuck open that I could see.

Do you have 911 on speed dial?

You need fingers to speed dial

Does your phone respond to voice commands?

Does Bonnie recognize voice commands?

Son of a %^&*# = Bonnie bring the bandages.

Mother *&^%$# = Bonnie dial 911

&*^$ Me = Bonnie I need a beer and a hug.

From what I can see by the pictures, the pump is junk, but yes, what went through the pump to trash it?

I assumed it came FROM the pump. I did not find any in the oil pan. But I have not been able to look in the pan real good. Just the oil that I drained.

I don't know. But the pump still looks good enough to run yes?

just a few reasons pq needs to live in Tx

1 pleanty of friends to help tear into your car and fix it

2 you think our alcohol at parkinglot parties is good wait until you expierence working on a car.

3 always a shop with in 25 miles that works on these dam things if you mess up something.

4 tow truck guys are waiting in parkinglots all over 24/7 ready to tow you to a shop if you need help

5 when you have suspension problems pete is more likely to come and help you personally in Texas.

6 Tex Mex lol always seems to brighten your spirit.

7 always a gtg or Camaro gathering with friends.

8 To hell with working on that car no matter where you live in Tx you would be just a few from either Bourbon Street LA or 6th street Austin lol

9 Tx mile to a hand full of 1/8 and 1/4 mile tracks all over the place.

10 much easier to talk $#IT to half of the people on here in person than do it on C5

besure and make a video of this tear down I enjoy listening to you cuss at yourself

Low oil pressure is usually a bad pump or bad bearings. You have debris in the pump from an unknown source.

Pull the pan and see what is in it.

or

Install a new pump and see if the pressure comes back. If the new pump restores pressure do a quick oil and filter change and hope for the best.

or

Tear it down and rebuild it now.

Opinions????

Pulling the pan is almost as easy yanking the engine as it is cutting the cross member and removing the steering rod and what a PITA.

I thought about installing a new pump to see but what a PITA.

Tearing it down and rebuilding it now, what a PITA.

Ok, my thoughts are that I feel confident this pump is working fine. And since this oil pan is so hard to get out and it's safer being absolutely sure by inspecting the internals that I'd pull it to look at the pan AND the bearings. I suppose putting a new pump on and putting it back together could be a test, I just didn't want to waste any time. I could buy one of those probes with the video screen but not sure how accurate the info would be. I might miss material and not know.

I welcome thoughts of course.
