Need a another car what to buy

Okay so I have a real nice 2011 SSRS that sits real pretty in the garage most of the time. I drive a Chevy Avalanche to work which is about an 86 mile trip each day getting all of 14 MPG.
The wife drives a mini van which gets about 17 and she carts the kids all over the place.

What we want to get is a fun car with a stick to share. I started looking at the Focus ST when I saw one on the way to work one day. It's no 6.2L but it does seem peppy and gets a mileage rating somewhere between 24 and 30 mpg. The other thought is to get a new Camaro V6 convertible. The idea is to save some gas and have some fun along the way.

I have worries over the Camaro as my wife hates driving mine with the blind spots. I don't really notice them but she does. I should mention though the vert was her idea

any thoughts on a good fun and inexpensive 4 of 6 banger?

Thanks!

Mini Cooper base model or Mini Cooper S comes with a super charger with. The S model, it's a stick. Good times on tracks. And if it breaks down you and another one of your kids could just pick it up and take it to a repair shop lol!

Not at all a stick, but I rented an Altima and the my buddy bought one last year, nice cars, fairly roomy, good gas mileage.

Guilty pleasure time, I enjoyed my 2005 Scion XB for the short while I drove it. Not much power but with the manual trans it was sporty ish for a toaster. But what about that new thing they've got FRS or something, I don't know the mileage, but maybe it's worth a look.

Depends....do you want the car to be able to comfortably carry 4 people? If so the scion is out. I would buy a 4dr civic si. Fun reliable and great gas mileage

Also jeep wranglers 2dr and 4 dr are a blast. Ask me how I know... mine is a stick and the wife loves to go topless

I'm sure they're a lot of fun, but I don't think the gas mileage is all that great.

I bought a Chevy Sonic 1.4T with a stick, I love it. I drive city about 90% of the time and average 29.1 MPG. And that's with a lot of rapid accelerations. Actually, coming home from the dealership (60 miles away for the closest turbo manual, exactly how I wanted it though), I was averaging 44 MPG. If you get a trifecta tune and a few other basic mods, you'll be at 200 HP+ in a 2700 pound car. The turbo makes it have a lot of torque and with those mods, you'll be at 210-220 ft-lb of torque.
