Really just rumors as of right now, but a VERY reliable source has stated there will be a 7th engine offering for the 2011MY Challenger. If true it will be a bit more than a Z28 or GT500, but hey as long as they produce something from the factory that will get the job done who cares??

we have been discussing this in the other thread. if it is priced like a viper, that would suck. if it is in the 50-60k range like the truck was then i will be purchasing it.

people say it will cost 90k but if the truck version was only like 10-15 more than a fully loaded v8 version....so can the challenger.

It doesn't sound like this will be produced any time soon from what I've been read.

I would however love to see it on the road. Knowing chrysler, it would cost well into the 80's or 90's anyhow.

This is not factory. No one cares if some specialty tuner takes out the factory engine and puts in another one.

To take it one step further, Roush, Saleen, etc do not change out the engines in their cars. They add superchargers and in extremely rare cases modify the internals of the engine but very very few of them get a completely different engine(Like the S351 Saleen of 10+ years ago). Saleen was able to do that because they get branded with a Saleen VIN and it underwent its own EPA testing for emissions.

I am hoping it will.

I am just waiting for Ford to slap the TVS on from the factory and rate the GT500 at 600+hp. I really don't think it is but a year or two at the most away.

It's been "rumored" for 2 years now and the car that is videoed was specially made last year for a car show and was said then by Chrysler that the car will not go into production.
