Any Suggested Mods for 17 year old?
I recently bought a 45th anniversary Camaro. I am 17 years old and the Camaro is one of those dream cars I have always had since I was little. I worked for many summers and my dad helped me some.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for some cheap simple mods I should do to my car. I have already done smoked tail light covers and blacked out the chevy badges. Please just let me know what you think I should do to my car next. |

Just enjoy driving it, and be thankful for having an awesome car and a cool dad. That is all.

Headers and exhaust should be mandatory on these cars

1st, Congrats on dream ride.
Since your 17..... I wouldn't mess around with the power train just yet. Parts are'nt cheap, and 90% of the things you will install will need to be tuned. If you are itching to do something to the Camaro, I would play with the rims, tires, suspension ect.

Cheap simple mod: Cold air intake first a foremost. Easy to do and doesn't require a tune.
Another debatable one is a range afm disabler. Gives the car a lot more kick in the low rpm ranges. As far as I know anything past that and you're getting into the high hundreds of dollars and onward. Save your money up and enjoy the ride. |

Yeah I'm not looking to do much engine or power upgrades. This car has plenty more then I need under the hood. Rims are on my list already, I am just looking for the little exterior and interior things to personalize the car more. Thanks for the feedback though!

Congrats on the car. I bought my first fifth gen when I was 18 and still in high school. Like you I worked hard for a long time for it and the vehicles I had before it. My parent helped out a little bit too as a graduation present for doing well in school and earning a boatload of scholarships. Keep that in mind that school needs to come first. I still struggle with that a lot. I don't know what kind of money you owe on it, what your insurance situation is, how much you make, etc, but don't push it with this car.
Drivetrain (doesn't seem to be important to you) - CAI - axle or cat back - lowering springs Exterior - wheels - LEDs - tint (be reasonable. I like 15% and local cops don't care here) - get rid of that front plate unless you love it Interior - LEDs - tint also applies here - audio if you're into that Remember that cheap doesn't always mean good. Most of the time, you get what you pay for. Keep that car looking sharp. Keep it clean and invest in some high quality detailing products. Most importantly be careful and don't be [too] stupid.
