Cam/stroker or blower?
I had an interesting chat with a guy at Home Depot that just put a blower on his Corvette. He couldn't get over the "fun" he was having with his new found power. I have been researching cams and stroker options that will get me roughly half the hp of the blower for about 1/3 of the price. Price isn't my driver, but is all the mechanical work worth the brain damage vs. slapping on a blower? I have always loved the lope of a cam and would really like to have more bottom end power. Thoughts?

I'm with you, love the sound of a cammed car.
Personally, I'd be going cam/stroker even if costs were the same.

OP you're not going to be able to do a cam and Stroker build for a 1/3 of the cost of a blower. Stroker builds tend to range between $5k-$6k without install cost. I was just quoted $5k plus freight for a 418 stroker assembled shortblock. Throw in the cost of a cam plus install and it's gonna cost you close to what a blower would. I paid $7,200 for my Whipple and that's installed cost. Good luck with your research and decision!

I did the cam, headers, tune, cats, cai, ect last year and that satisfied my urge. I can't get enough of the idle and sound of my car now. Great power and sounds like classic muscle now.

I'd go with the cam... you can always bolt on a blower later if it's not enough for you.

I am in the middle of making a similar decision. I really want to go the stroker route, but built N/A. However, you cannot beat the power the FI guys are making these days.
This really depends on your goals with the car and if it is your daily driver or not. Do you want it for drag racing, road course, auto cross or just a streetable car? The nice thing about these cars is you can usually find a nice middle with most combinations. If you decide to do the cam and know that you will want a blower later, I would suggest getting a blower cam to start with.
