It's probably not his and it's getting mods anyways. He only runs one way too not an average of both directions.

He just didn't keep going. It picked up another mph as it up shifted right before he let off the gas. My guess is he was just getting some baseline numbers to compare a modded car to later.

Is that the "short sheeting" folks are discussing saying that GM detuned 1st gear and torque - not allowing 1st to perform up to its potential in first gear?

If so, some may feel slightly "cheated".

I bet if that auto had not short shifted, he would have had a ton of wheel spin up to 6000+ rpms in 1st and increased the 0-60 time. I doubt GM "cheated" anyone by having the auto short shift in first. If anything, it is designed to do that to limit wheel-spin and decrease 0-60 times.

The 8 speeds do the same thing. It's just the car short shifting due to traction. If you want to ride 1st out all the way, get better tires or use the paddles

I don't think he was at wot thru 1st and 2nd. Probably about 3/4 throttle or less until he got into 3rd gear. I have to do that on the street with my SC 1ss other wise it will just blow the tires off and it will even do that in 3rd sometimes.
