2001 SS LS2 396 build

Here is the history on the car 2001 Chevy Camaro Turbo SS GM High Tech March 2008

Bought this in 2011 since the body had everything I wanted to do to my 2000 and it was a hell of a lot cheaper than converting things over in my high mileage 2000

oh yeah new windshield is needed lol surprisingly I didn't do this one

Obviously it needs an cooling system, engine, trans, rear-end, new tires and rims, brakes and fuel delivery system and a few other little things Most of everything has been selected and now it's just buying the stuff

This is what I've done since I've had the car. Sold the zr1 rims, I"m not a fan of them and not a fan of the rollers it's on now, but oh well. Added an ABS module since the previous owner in Wisconsin removed it. Removed the hack job of a fuel pump from the tank and just awaiting it's replacement so I can put the rear back up once it get's here. Removed speaker wire that is useless for the car, sent the scan master back to Tom in WI, I don't need it and will be removing the gauge pod and gauges soon and removed and sold the coil relocation kit also. I'll post up new pics of the interior when i get that stuff removed

and how she sits now

I ordered my new LS2 block 2 weeks ago and it was delivered to the dealership last Tuesday and I picked her up with a new oil pan this morning

and here are my 243's I need to disassemble them and re-assemble them after they get some work

The reason I ordered new instead of buying a junkyard engine is because I want as much parts in this build to be brand new. Only used parts I can see right now putting on is the intake manifold, throttle body (only cause it is sitting in my garage and I have no idea how I got it lol),the trans housing (internals will be brand new), coils and coil brackets and some other stuff I'm sure. Ok I had in my mind more used parts but apparently not lol
As soon as I get parts I will be posting pics.
Stuff off the top of my head (note some of this stuff might change)
LS2 Block

Stroke: 3.940"
Connecting Rod 6.125"
Compression Ratio: 10-10.5:1

Heads: ported 243's
Exhaust: 3" true duals with sweet thunder resonators
Intake: LS6 or FAST

Rear End: 9" or s60 with 3.73's

Spoke with a gentleman from Callies the other day on the specifics on my rotating assembly the 1 thing that will take the longest to build will be my crankshaft shock shock lol 12 week, but it's not like I have the rest of the car waiting for me to run anyway. looking at minimum of $3200 for a balanced rotating assembly from them.

Well this weekend she went from this

to this

They'll be coming off when I get the cash to replace suspension parts and brakes. The rims will be separated from the tires to be stripped and powdercoated
