Not to be annoying, but is the poll asking
if I wish to own one (No) or want them to be
produced (Yes)?

Either way both no for me. The regular one is ugly enough. Why tarnish the ZL/1.

i don't get the idea that offering more options on the ZL1 will tarnish or dilute the nameplate...

why would anyone argue that someone else shouldn't have the car they want, how they want it, from the factory? the ZL1 is born of this very idea is it not?

i want an auto vert ZL1. i want a daily driver that can compete with all the gt500 daily drivers... i also want a convertible. this car is about fun to me... if you want a serious ZL1 buy it. don't hate on my fun ZL1.

supercharged, convertible and cruise control is like chocolate, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. amazingly decadent, but still amazing.

i can do without auto, it's not a deal breaker. if i can't get a convertible top... i'll just modify a used SS a bit at a time and actually learn my own car.

Since I live in San Diego and could cruise with the top down most of the year, I would probably go with the convertible. I guess it depends on where you live and how you plan to use the car.

I want a vert!!!
Ill even get it in the color scheme as my SS35th vert! Red with checkered stripes!

I Love SLP but I would rather buy a factory Chevrolet ZL1 vert than a modded SLP.

Thats sounds fun! ahhaha

Not too unusual for me, but then I drive a Hayabusa.

I would probably cough up the extra $$ ONLY if it were a hardtop. As Wvallediego said in the R&T post, " It would be like watching Bumblebee transform."

Also, 10forty2 was concerned with the rigidity of the chassis. Do you guys think they would need to beef up the chassis to maintain handling if the top is poppable?

If for some strange reason every time you drove the car you were doing 150 mph then yes, a convertible would be absurd; but how often does a car capable of going 150 mph actually get driven at 150 mph?
I don't know about you but i plan on having my convertible hover around the 500 rwhp mark with in a few months of having it and maybe even 600rwhp with a blower after a year or so, but it will mainly be used to go to school, work, out with the Mrs, run errands and only go to the track 3 or 4 times a year. Weather permitting, the top will be down for 4 out of 5 of those activities and i don't foresee me having to do 150 mph to go but milk.
I've been in a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Going at 140mph top down. I dont see much different then going 50mph with the top down. Only difference is the wind really.
