Gen6 ZL1 front rings?

Reading around still learning about these cars. I read on a racing brake post that the z28 and gen 6 zl1 brake systems are basically the same except zl1 has iron rings. I know the hats are diff on the gen6 so it won’t be a direct swap. But would it be possible to run the gen6 zl1 front rings on the z28 hat? Seems the zl1 rotors are 360$ or so each.

Try looking up part number. If they're identical then the answers clear. Planning on running the iron rings in hopes to save a bit on a brake job later?

Look like different size rotors.

From Chevrolet Press releases:

2015 Z/28
Rotor diameter x thickness, front (in / mm):
15.5 x 1.4 / 394 x 36
Rotor diameter x thickness, rear (in / mm):
15.3 x 1.3 / 390 x 32

2017 ZL1
Brake Rotor Size (in / mm): Front: 15.35 / 390 vented, with six-piston monobloc calipers
Rear: 14.4 / 365 vented, with four-piston fixed calipers

And what about rears? Iron up front and carbon in the rear?

I know you can run the z28 front rotors using a zl1 caliper on the racing brake ccr kit for the gen6 zl1. I’m being overly optimistic but would be a great alternative.
