Does anyone else have this happen on the reg?

So everytime my local dealer sells or tries to sell a camaro, they either send them to see me or call me to come there to show the customers how to use the car and all the little gadgets and general info on the car.

Just wondering if this happens to anyone else. At times it's annoying but then I see the smiles on faces and remeber that the last 8 new vehicles I've bought from them they are great to me and that's why keep going back.

Unless you have a personal relationship with someone at the dealership, I wouldn't be bothered. Once or twice maybe, but not on a regular basis unless they're giving you free oil changes or some other type of perk.

Like I said they are great they've actually sent me several $100 checks. I just figured it happens quite a bit Because I know most people on here know more about thier camaros than the people selling the car to them.

General maintenance (oil changes, air filter and cabin filter) for free would be a fair trade IMO.

Well that's different (you didn't mention the checks) I would do it for "several" $100 checks...............

I own 2 Michelin tire shops. My newest one is an 8 bay garage. I do my own oil changes. No way in hell paying dealer prices for an oil change. And I know it's done right.

I don't ask for any money. I'd rather them sell the car and have a happy customer. Like I said I've bought my last 8 new vehicles from them and they take great care of me.

I guess I was just wondering if everyone else ran into the same problem of knowing more about thier car than the people selling it to them .

could be a nice little "quid pro quo" setup,if they'd start referring tire sales to you as well!

My sales guy was pretty useless. He couldn't even drive a stick. I was shown absolutely nothing about the car except for the OnStar setup, which he bailed out of the car after the initial contact. Sounds like you have a good relationship with the dealer and I would keep it going. My guess is that dealer will give your preferential treatment over the average Joe.

I taught my dealer a lot about the car when I bought mine. Im suprised (somehow) when I know more than a dealer does. You'd think they would learn a little bit about the cars they sell, but I guess that isn't the knowledge they need to make a buck
