4K-ish rev limiter while driving?
My friend has a 2010 SS, 6 speed manual, and he called me asking my opinion on something and I didn’t know how to help him.
He said he went to do a pull from a roll and that for some reason when moving and in gear the car is hitting a rev limiter around 4-4500 rpms. I thought maybe he had traction control kicking in or something but he said he had traction and stability control disabled and it’s definitely a rev limit behavior. Basically the car isn’t letting him go above 4,500 rpm in any gear. The only thing I could think of was maybe the car doesn’t know he’s in gear? I know some cars won’t let you rev past around 4K in neutral or park.. Anyone have any ideas? |

Is it cutting out ? Like that car falls flat on it face at 4K? Any flickering of dash lights or anything ?

I know if you push the clutch in from a launch it will limit revs. I ran into an issue where I could not get it to rev past 4k at the line and my tuner had to adjust another parameter in the tune to get past it. Perhaps there is a problem with the clutch position switch.
