Rennlist GT3 mountain meet
SO here is an idea i've been looking at and following closely. For the past few years a group on Rennlist with GT3/RS cars meet up in the Smokey Mountains. Its very unique to have 30 or so GT3 cars in one place, all enjoying the mountain roads, do a track day, and just gather with like minded folks.
What started as a few dudes tossing the idea around to make a mountain run has progressed into 60+ cars. I love car shows, I love track days, but what I love most is just driving. I think this would be a unique event for Z/28 owners to try and arrange. Somewhere relatively central, but with good scenery and twisty roads to enjoy. Maybe have it also located somewhere near a track as well, to make it a weekend affair. It essentially is our own little hotrod power tour. Thoughts? https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...kies-trip.html |

Been looking for motivation to go to tail of the dragon, organize it and people will follow I'm sure. https://tailofthedragon.com/events/

BUT, if thats what it takes to make it happen, we can do it! Planning it early in the year with cooler temps will help to keep traffic down. |

That would be a blast. Not sure about the cost of a private track rental day, but a Z/28 invitational cruise through some mountains would be epic.

Yep! I've done that drive as well. Good mountainous terrain outside of PB and into WV! Had a blast lugging some Cadillacs arounds those corners. And stopping at the small WV corner stores and feeling like I stepped back in time 60 years! Great area with lots of History.

I second the movement for an organized drive but what really would be something special in my opinion would be a track day at cota if it's at all possible. It's my "local" track and always fantasize driving around it when I visit it.

I was planning to hopefully do it this October actually. Event got canceled. Wait and see now if they offer another event this year.

Very glad to see some interest. Lots of great areas out east; Smokies, blue ridge, red rover gorge, look out mountain, random areas of WV. I've been through there a few times and loved it every time.

SO here is the "general area" I was thinking. This is the twistiest/most scenic section I have been to. Blue ridge, TOG, red river gorge, look out mountain, and tons of random awesome places to stop and take in all the scenery. Sevierville, TN has a sweet Muscle Car museum.
Its unfortunate for our California friends, that is a near impossible trek for them, but being more central located will hurt everyone. Not much twisty driving in Kansas or Nebraska. I'd like to include EVERYONE though, so suggestions welcome! Thoughts? |

Not a knock on left coasters at all, because I think the beauty of the southwest and the Cali coast are unmatched in the world. However there's a reason Hot Rod Power Tour leans towards this area every year. More cars and people are concentrated within a reasonable driving distance.
