Mylink text messages

Anyone else annoyed that every text you ask the radio to read to you is always introduced with the full date and time received? Any way to stop this? Using a pixel xl with the stock messaging app

When you have it connected to Bluetooth, go into the Bluetooth settings on your phone and click the Camaro. Should bring up settings and you should be able to turn off notifications for messages. You will still receive phone calls though

That's how it was on my iPhone and Google nexus phone. Let me know if it works out

No, I enjoy that it reads me texts, I don't enjoy that every text has the date and time mentioned before the actual content of the message

I agree. If I am driving and get a text notification through Mylink, I KNOW WHAT DAY AND TIME I RECEIVED IT. That information being read back is superfluous and annoying. Also, It decreases the amount of data that can be read back, as the sender, date, and time is included in the total amount of data. If I am in a group message, Mylink will read the date and time of the message, and everyone's name and number in the group. By the time it's done with that, it's exhausted it's cache.

Glad to know i'm not alone. I think i'm gonna try other messaging apps to see if the same issue follows or if it's just the nature of the mylink system.

It's not a life threatening issue, but when you spend this kind of money on a car, you tend to want it to work the way you (and apparently a few others as well) want it to.

Mine doesn't read texts. Is there a setting in the radio to get it to do it? Or a setting on my phone? Can you reply back with a voice to text?

I use a program called Outloud on android. You can configure it to read any app and any text within the notifications that you want.

The worst is group texts as it reads the time, date, and persons name for everyone in the text lol, I just ignore those.

How about when some one sends you a picture, it reads the file name of the picture. That can take awhile.

Seems like this is a common complaint. Where's that Chevy customer service representative that lurks around here?

Not to hijack but somewhere around iOS 9 mine stopped doing some things on Bluetooth it did before. My wife's car stopped reading them when she got a new iPhone. I would just like to get that back.
