Top power to weight ratio list

S197 Mustang is top in every list.

"But yesterday's news out of Dodge begs the question: where would the devilish, 707-horsepower Challenger Hellcat come to rest within this group (assuming that Dodge keeps it under six-figures, which I do)? The truth is that I don't know, as the weight of the car is still unclear, but we can make some educated guesses.

If the Hellcat ends up tipping the scales with the same heft as the 2014 Challenger SRT 392, that's 4,231 pounds, it would still finish just below the Mustang GT500 with 5.984 pounds per pony. In fact, the Hellcat would have to lose more than a hundred pounds versus the existing car to best the Mustang. With that said, when the 2015 model year comes around in earnest, there's little doubt that the Challenger Hellcat will reign in the sub-$100k category."

Weight has already been officially announced. The A8 is 4,439 lbs while the M6 is 4,449 lbs.

Given those numbers the power to weight ratio is as follows:

Hellcat A8 = 0.159
Hellcat M6 = 0.158

Horsepower per pound:

Hellcat A8 = 6.2786
Hellcat M6 = 6.2927

Against the GT500, it will be a drivers race. The only advantage the Hellcat has is the A8 and that may be by a slim margin.

car and driver lists the z/28 as 73,700 dollars

3280 pounds at 505 hp is what I've seen for specs

That would be in the 'under 100K bracket', at 6.495 lbs per bhp

It's not on the list....

You're about 500 lbs low on the weight of the z/28. She's a piggy.

Possibly because the Z/28 weighs 3820 lbs, not 3280 giving it 7.564 lb/hp. It is listed in 6th on the under 100k group, between the Jaguar F-type & CTS-V Coupe

S550 will NOT be the top in each. With Gen-6 Camaro by '16, S550 may NOT be tops in ANY...
