I don't feel the seat warmer at all if I'm wearing a jacket and barely feel the heater when the temp and fan are cranked.

@Tara Martin, check out this thread for some reviews.
Thanks for your insight and the link. There's a lot of info there.

Had an excellent buying experience here:

[QUOTE=Tara Martin;11409644]I've seen that one advertised. I'm not sure if I want to deal with powering that light up display. I'm happy with the basic Chevy parts unit, I think.

I agree, I like the oem one also. I think it works very well.

I ordered the wind deflector last week. A local dealer's online part department showed that it was in stock, so I bought it with my GM points and credit card. Then I get an email acknowledging the sale and stating that I'd be notified when it arrived. I call the parts dept and they said that yeah, it always shows in stock, but it has to be ordered. Well, that's some crap! I guess dishonesty is just the way of business now. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long to arrive.

Accessories are generally NOT actually at any particular dealer and have to be shipped in - this allows GM to maintain lower overall stock counts while not putting space pressure on the dealerships to store all kinds of accessory options for the various vehicles.

Since you're ordering based on actual manufacturer stock, you'll find either "In stock", "Backordered", or "Out of Stock" to reflect they have it available to ship into a dealer, THEY are waiting to replenish the "master stock", or it may be no longer sold.

I would expect it will come within the week, maybe ten days.

Accessories are warehoused by private companies that just do accessories for GM - I think they are called an "ADI", and there are like 50 or so in the USA. So when a dealer shows "In stock" it means that the ADI that supplies them has the part in stock.

They are "Supposed" to turn the orders around in 24 hours, because the idea is that they have the LPO accessories (that are on the window sticker) in stock and ready to go when the vehicles arrives at the dealer. So the wait is usually not that bad. They are regionally aligned with the dealers they support, too.

Thanks for any thought on the deflector.

Tara

yes they are worth it. keeps the noise down and reduces the wind significantly. Also a must have for those with hearing aids

Also, rolling the windows up makes the AC or heat much more effective in weather that would otherwise require the roof up.

Thanks for the details! I hadn't heard anything from the dealer since I ordered, so I called yesterday. After much rummaging around, the parts guy said that they had it there for me.

Thanks! I figured out the windows up part for myself the other day when the temps were down. With my heat on and my seat warmer, it was quite comfy.

Congrats! I like it because without it, you get a wind that blows forward from between the seats. It seems to hold that unwanted breeze down.

I did a nice drive last weekend and hit some upper speeds and the wind wasn't a problem at all with the deflector. We went windows up at the higher speeds and we could still converse at a normal tome of voice. It was a good purchase!

Thanks everyone!

Windows up also stops the buffeting on the seat belt over the shoulder...
