It only occurs on light throttle low rpm shifts. Shift over 2000 rpm and you will hardly notice it or accelerate hard and you will never notice it.

Seriously, I've driven a lot of cars with CAGS and this is the least intrusive car I've ever driven with it.

oh, it's just a shift indicator light. It doesn't actually do any shifting. I don't know what I'd do without the internet to find information!

i'm almost 100% positive there is NO skip shift on the V6. once again, the skip shift is there to avoid the gas guzzler tax and improve mileage. this is not necessary on the V6.

You are correct... I should have been more clear!

It is a light that shows when it enters skip shift mode. When this happends the shift gates 2 and 3 are blocked to "force" you into 4th.

I can shift into 3rd on my other Tremec equipped car, did they actually block 3rd too on the 2010 Camaro SS? I hope not!

No, you can shift into 3rd. It's just more awkward to reverse directions in mid-shift (although I always did it because I didn't want to shift to 4th yet). It annoyed the hell out of me when I got my car. It kept happening when I was turning left at green lights. I finally got the skip-shift eliminator. I suggest letting the car cool off completely before installing it so you don't burn yourself though. I had to put on some gloves to save my fingers because I had recently driven.

All three of the criteria have to going on at the same time. 1. Temp has to be above 169. 2. Vehicle must be going between 15-19MPH. AND 3. less than 20% throttle (babying it). I have only had it come on when I am turning at a light with cars in front of me.

It has been said that skip shifting yourself will yield the best MPG numbers. I have been doing my everyday driving from 1 to 3 to 5 and my numbers have went way up. Even when I am getting on it!!!

When I drove a friend's 6 speed 4th gen, I would go from 1st to 3rd, then to 4th with no problem. I would hope you could do that on the 5th gens too.

Cheapest and easiest way to avoid it is to use more than 21% throttle while accelerating.
