Sorry Ford, saw the ADM on the window (2mos ago) and that was enough for me to get the hell out that dealership. Traded my 07' Z06 for the Z/28 (-17%off MSRP 0% financing)

Yep...all of them have their share of issues, but I was talking specifically about the Z/28's durability. Btw, I'd never buy the a car in it's first year on a new platform. Have done that once and will never do it again. One word - nightmare.

Hi all,
I may be a bit off base on this reply, but here goes.... I had a 2013 Boss 302. I never took it to a track, but I did drive it a good bit on the mountain roads nearby. It was bone stock, except for GT 500 mufflers. Mine was a very strong motor from the factory..obviously not built on a Friday. The car handled very well, and the motor pulled very hard to its redline. However, putting that car against the Z/28 is just a joke. It's transmission was an even bigger joke. The ultra steep 3.66 first gear made the 1-2 shift ridiculous. The 5-6 shift was just as bad. Ford's idea to use a trans like that with a great engine was asinine. The Z/28 is obviously better equipped, and far more purpose-built than the Boss was. Yes, it was far more expensive, as well, but to me, it was worth every penny more. Now in comes the GT350 and GT350R...which I believe are a straight out attempt to combat our Z/28's. I believe even the standard version has upgraded to the Tremec trans over the worthless MT82, which is a good thing for Ford buyers. But, the way Ford allows its dealers to gouge prices, and the over-production of the cars, which Ford also does, will eventually put them out of the game. Personally, I like the looks/style of the 13 Mustang much better than the 14+ models. I think their rear ends have a "secretary spread" look to them. I only drive my Z/28 on my weekends. It is by far the best American made car I have ever owned. It is a tad rough on the street (it's license plate is: BRUTAL Z). But even so, it is still easy to drive around town. It has great looks and the power delivery is fantastic. And those brakes!!!! The trans and rear end ratios are also spot on, as far as I'm concerned. Oh, and at every single intersection I stop at, on every street I drive down, and in every parking lot and gas station I go to, at least one, and ofter more, will comment or give me a thumbs up. That never happened with any of my other vehicles, including Porsche or BMW. If I just won the lottery, and could go buy any other car ever made, including a ridiculously overpriced GT350R, I would still keep and drive this Z/28. Just my feelings on the matter....Wow...I just talked myself into taking a nice drive up the mountains! Take care, JJ |

For remaining inventory try the following: Autotrader.com Cars.com You local Chevy dealer - search. Cars.com has 9- '14s and 159- '15's as new. Lots of used ones too. BTW - you have 3/36 to figure out if the valves are an issue. Can't image they are an issu at this point. |

ah the age old question. ford v chevy. funny nobody makes any mention of Dodge products. I think that speaks to itself.
my story is not unusual exactly a year ago I made a deal with bob moore ford in OK to buy the GT350R. as a customer buying many fleet trucks and having purchased both a boss 302 and a 302LS we agreed on a deal of buying both a 350 and a 350R. fast forward 9 months and the dealer realizes the frenzy is on and the money and greed become too much for them and they dump me on my face and wont return calls. they replace the manager and the new manager told me my deal died with the old manager. absolute bullshit! so I went out and bought a used 2015 Z/28 with 800 miles on it for less than a base GT350. I have driven both cars on the street. if you want a fabulous cable street car the mustang is far superior. but I am still happy with the Z and bought it to be a track car that is street legal. looking forward to the relationship this season. |

Please share pics when you get the beast. a nose to nose shot of the cars would be kinda cool.
Let me guess, you got a black one?

Went through the the local Ford dealer lot today and this was behind the fence. Tech Pak + stripes car for $58 sticker. Sitting outside, nice gloomy 45 degrees, damp. Rotors were already rusty. I haven't seen a Z/28 with rusty rotors yet.
Sharp car if your into Mustangs. Not for me tho... Makes the Z/28 that can be had for $55-60k new look pretty impressive IMO. |
