No idea, car was behind the fence and it looks like it just arrived. No dealer prep yet. Could have been ordered for someone too. Dealer has it on their site with no mark up.
From what I understand the tech pack cars are not good on the track, apparently they go into limp mode in a few laps from heat. You need the track pack if your going to track or race the car. I don't follow these for price or markup but maybe nobody want the tech pack cars? Dealer website: http://www.goappleford.com/mobile/Ne...PA/vd/34211939 |

Razor, you didnt want to wait? 2017 GT350's have the track pack as standard. You can add the tech package and have the best of both worlds. For 2016 models you have to get the R to have your cake and eat it too, but as we all know apparently its almost impossible to get an R and if you do your spending well over sticker.

You'll get it before. People talk a lot but when it's time to put pen to paper many back out for many reasons.

The 350R is the car to consider. I cannot doubt it is a blast to drive. As mentioned all the 350s with issues do not make the car worth grabbing over the Z28. Issues or not, markups aside, there are great aspects about all 350s. I do not feel the 350 warrants a markup at all. The 350R, sure... It is a bummer most Rs we will not see driven.
In a direct comparison of the R and Z28, no markups, unless the tech is a must for the buyer, the Z28 was not really outdone by the R. The real desire from the R is the lighter trans housing, specific tire developed, and some un-sprung weight. I do like the R being able to perform with additional comforts and technology. Z28 debate of ring times and dry tracks, is a worthwhile debate. The R can compete, but with tires developed for it, aero differences, and other advantages, of course it can scoot by the Z28. Barely. Will the 2017 350s with some part swaps be the same car as the 350R, we will see. I doubt it. I will take the Z28s electronic management (PTM) over the 350s. I do know the R has millimeter variances in the suspension components and believe the electronic management is probably more dialed in and competitive to the Z28. Exactly why any 350, not R, is a different comparison. However, with minimal cost and changes to the Z28, 500+ whp can happen at less than MSRP of an R with tech. (Z28 for 60k assumed) Then assume R markups and a 76k Z28... again unless comforts are desired, the Z28 plus 5-10k in additional power, Z28 still is victorious for less than what it is to get in the R. Only consider the GT350R if it is at MSRP, as the Z28 is a great platform and has the ability to keep up with newer developments. 350Rs, Zl1s, etc... Considerable and fantastic cars no matter what but tough to part with a Z28 if we are debating performance alone. |
