How is insurance for Z06 compared to Z/28. I was quite happy with my insurance costs for the Z/28. Thought it might be a bit more than what I am paying. Z06 is on my want list. Curious if insurance is that much higher. Congrats on the new acquisition. Beautiful car and color combo.

Be Careful in the Z06 I've had the back step out more then I wish. Track mode can be scary if you are not ready for it on a cold day or on cold tires. My only knock on the Z06 is I feel I need to drive with some of the nannies on where in the Z/28 I did not.

We have both a 2015 Z06 Z07 convertible with 8 speed auto and 2015 Z/28. Insurance was much more for Z/28 compared to Corvette and actually unbelievable IMO as it was almost $400 more per year. Cost when we purchased the new Z06 went down $36 or so per 6 months compared to our 07 Z06 Corvette. Loved the LS7 and one of the reasons we snagged a Z/28 when they had the 20% factory rebate along with dealer discounts this past November.
Understand the reasons for asking comparisons as I would also and I do not track them but there is no comparison in thoughts about what seems superior on the street as the Z06 Corvette just cooks. Due to weight the Z/28 is hindered immediately and the brakes offer no advantage as the Z07 has them also. Even the tires on the Z06 Z07 had to be changed immediately as they are street racing tires similar to the Z/28. Heck we love our Z/28 and again I think the LS7 is one neat great motor that is naturally aspirated but the new Z06 Z07 is quite a machine in its own light. Many of the auto Z06's are going in the 10's bone stock. We are very fortunate to enjoy two great but different cars like this! To the op, congratulations on one great looking car and have fun!

Well I've got a '09 Z06; but my comments would be the Vette is refined, zip zoom gone...
The Z/28 is a brawler, a visceral punch with a clutch, floor the gas, bang into 2nd gear and lift as you're above the speed limit.. The vette is faster and more refined, but the Z/28 just gets my blood boiling - its just a total bad azz. And nearly every weekend we're out someone is saying something to us. Last week a guy goes by waving money wanting to race - but mostly they just say they've only see the car in a magazine - and never in the wild. That doesn't happen in the vette.

I gave the z06/z07 as well as the Viper ACR consideration. Both are amazing cars with the latter being top banana but for the price...........the Z/28 is a no brainer, out the box track car. I believe when you are considering cars at this level where all of them are within a scintilla of each other it is not the arrow but the Indian. |

Plus it's super limited!
I've only seen 1 other in person on the road in my life! I love that part! Even at the track guys come up and ask " is that the track ready Camaro with the Corvette engine?" I love it more because it's unique. I see dozens of Vettes and regular Camaros daily. In my area there are Z06's everywhere! 3 of my neighbors have one, and sometimes at a traffic light, I'll see 2 or 3 just by turning my head! The Z06 is still super awesome, but the Z28 is sort of special to me
