Traded the Z/28!

Well I didn't think I'd trade but the opportunity came for me to purchase a car I've wanted for a while now! So I did just that. Gonna miss the Z/28, but I think I'm gonna like the new Z06 even more!!

What dealership did you trade at? Did they give you good money for it if you don't mind? Great looking z06.

Base Z06 or the Z07 package? Great car either way. Congrats! I too am interested in a comparison to the Z/28.

That's about the only trade I would do if I owned a Z/28. lol

Congrats and enjoy the Z06!

I went from a 2015 Z06 the Z/28. And I like the Z/28 better. The Z06 was very finicky. There is NOT a noticeable amount of difference in thrust. In the 14 months I owned the Z06, it was at the dealership at least six times for one failure or another. I don't miss it at all.

Passenger side blinker went out along with the daytime running light. Bulb? Nope. After a week, it was determined that the headlight assembly needed replacement. $1200 if it's not in warranry. You don't just change a bulb with the Z06. The entire front bumper had to be removed to replace it. In the Z/28, I will be able to replace bulbs by myself. And buy them from Pep Boys.

Rear brakes squeal which required a special paste to be applied to the rotors. This came after the rotor was replaced.

The drop down infotainment screen went out which required the dash to be removed to replace.

The GPS receiver went out and required replacement.

The memory seats NEVER worked right.

The clutch slipped after only three launches in the Z06. My Z/28 has withstood many more and is still solid.

Everyone is different. I loved the Z06, but not the troubles that came with it. Congrats on the trade and my wish is that you have better experiences then I did.

Hope you enjoy you're new ride!

I was actually looking to purchase a 2016 Z06 until I saw the Z28 sitting beside 3-4 Z06's and thought, 'jeez, I can't believe I can't stop looking at the Z28'.

I left the dealership with the Z28.

His has the Z07 package. Loses top speed, but is faster on road course.

Ok so far I can tell you the ride in the Z06 is smoother, but I never thought the Z/28 was harsh. The clutch is gonna take some getting use to. The seats even though I got standard seats really hold you. I didn't get the Z07 package, however it does have the stage 2 aero package. It's by far faster! Not supposed to rev it above 4500 till you hit 500 miles, but I can still tell its gonna be much faster. I really like how the exhaust has 3 modes, touring which is quite, sport which opens the baffles through 4th gear then after that it's closes it, then track and the baffles are wide open all the time. I can tell that once I get to really drive it I'm gonna love the rev match!! So I never tracked the Z/28 except for track laps at Charlotte motor speedway when we did 3 laps behind a pace car, wasn't supposed to lay back and the go hard but we did and I was 130-140 in the dog leg with no problem. Will be doing that again in November and I'll try to remember to report back. We did do a lot of spirited driving here in East Tennessee and I can say the Z/28 was SUPER awesome doing that, I only had the back step out 1 time and I was REALLY pushing it hard that day. So once I get 500 miles on it, change the oil, I'll let her open up some. See ya behind the wheel!!

Thanks for all the comments!!
