2010 Camaro SS Twin Turbo Boost Problem

Having a problem holding set boost. Running the E-Boost 40 and have a 8lb spring in the gates. It hits 8.8lbs then bleeds off to 5lbs at high rpms. The turbos are going into the bottom side port and controller to the top side port of the Tial wastegates. I’m not real familiar with the controller but set the settings like suggested. Is there something I’m missing with setting it up. Wanting to be around 9.5lbs of boost. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You're gonna want to bump the settings up to apply some pressure to the top of the wastegates. Say you wanna make 10psi but your backpressure is 5 psi. It's going to take 15psi on the top of the wastegates to make 10psi.

That's how backpressure works. In your case, its insignificant. Just a few clicks in the boost controller and you're golden

So with the back pressure from the system is what’s causing it to bleed down at high rpms. So I need to set gate pressure on the controller higher to keep it from bleeding down the 3lbs. I think it’s set at 9.5 right now so turn it up to the 15.

Then I can set the over boost protection at around 10.3 to keep it from over boosting if it happens

I had the same problem with my eboost 2. I had to use boost correction to fix it. Have you tried the boost correction instructions on page 17 to see if it fixes it?

Lighter spring

The Spring Pressure that you Should use is Based on The Boost Level that you plan to Run. The Pressure of your Wastegate Spring should Be Half of the Boost Level that You want to Run. If You want to Run 30 PSI, You need a 15 PSI Base Pressure Spring. The Base PSI Spring is the Lowest PSI That You can Run on Your TurboCharger, The Boost Can Be Increase with a Boost Controller but only up to Double the PSI of the Wastegate Spring Pressure.

If You try to Boost More than Double the PSI of your Wastegate Spring, the Boost PSI will Fall off to a Lower PSI, The Reason Why is Because the Higher Pressure of the Engine At Higher RPM will force Open the Wastegate Valve, if the Base Spring PSI is too low. This is the Reason Why you Cannot use a Base Pressure 8 PSI Spring Cannot be used with a Boost Controller to run over 16 psi at Redline.

Usually If you have an 8 PSI Base Pressure Spring and you have the Boost Controller set to 20 PSI, You will Reach Your Target Boost at 20 psi Around 3500 rpm, Then Between 5,500 rpm to Redline, the PSI will Lower to 16 psi. If This is Happening to You, and you Want to run Higher Boost Levels you Need a Higher PSI Spring.

This info from boost labs buy might give you insight of why it's dropping off. Just applied your target numbers and see if pressure stays up with out dropping.

We’re did you get your rpm signal from to be able to use the boost correction

With running the 8lb spring it sees 8lbs but bleeds off at higher rpm. This is with or without the controller on it still acts the same. Checked for leaks and nothing for leaks

Tach output is on Pin 48 of the black connector.
You need to add a resistor (about 1k ohm) between the tach output and 12V to Pull-Up the Output signal to a usable voltage key on only super simple. Your actual adding a wire into the computer nothing in that pin location from factory.

No other boxes needed. Go to gm dealer pick up couple pins for the computer and wire . you will need hp tuners to change few things in computer but easy also . now you have a rpm signal wire.

I have Tial 38s with 8lb springs in them. The kit I fabbed and built myself and was going to stay around 9-10lbs with the water/meth. When you pin into the 48 will that wire come straight from there to my boost controller?

So been adjusting the settings a little at a time and have the over boost protection at 10.5psi. No I’m seeing 10.psi up until higher rpms and now it’s holding at 8psi to redline. So once I get the boost correction hooked up to rpm signal it should be good hopefully
